Can't hurt to ask for some divine intervention.

lol. You know a thought crossed my mind. Overall as a major group that the TWU as an organization represents, AA Mechanics are probably at the top of pay and benefits? I’m meaning a group that numbers over 10,000 Members.

You’re probably also one of the oldest Represented groups as well I’d guess coming from out of NYC in 1947 after Rail workers there?

So would you say the last good TWU contract at American Airlines, was when Bob was running the show as CEO?

I would think the World was more Sunshine and Rainbows for the entire Airline Industry before President Carter signed the Airline Deregulation Act In 1978.

I think it was all downhill from there until AA filed Bankruptcy and merged with USAIRWAYS completing the last piece of the puzzle that probably should have happened at least a Decade earlier.

Sadly, strength in numbers hasn't exactly fared well for us.

Because the numbers in this Country have grown too complacent and distracted to mobilize into a single unit under a single motivation.

Too many individuals with too many opinions all demanding to be heard thinking their single voice should be the most important voice.

Actually I need to modify this comment for driver since Airline Deregulation was a nightmare for Legacy Airlines but a Godsend for Southwest Airlines which assisted in lowering the bar overall for established old guard Airline Workers.

Don't forget what followed deregulation. PATCO strike with Reagan firing the controllers and then Frank Lorenzo taking CAL into bankruptcy just to abrogate all labor agreements. This began the anti union movement in the airlines. Airlines especially knew they had friends in the White House and the Congress. It has been a disaster for airline workers ever since.

When i was hired we didnt fly west of Chicago or south of SDF. Geography isnt my strong point actually i dont have a strong point anyhow deregulation provided opportunities for the carriers to grow. Some carriers like USwere careful and did well at first some like braniff went like a bat out of hell and folded. The new entrants is what really hurt labor i wonder if there will ever be another new entrant of signficance. Where would they get the pilots
