The only IGM I see is YOU.

I absolutely believe in round robin vacation picks.

Why should junior employees be happy about being your "sacrificial lamb' so you can have ALL of the benefits and they can have all of the crumbs.

The fact is seniority sure the hell is not looking out for the people following them. You would slit the junior employees throat in a second if you thought you could get a buyout deal.

The truth is you and people like you have an unrealistic sense of entitlement. It's that kind of crap that turns people against UNIONS.
You don't have a clue. I have 31 years at American. I am only 53 years old. I was hired under the C scale. I knew when I accepted the job what I would be making. I done my time and I understand what the word SENIORITY AND UNION MEAN. How the HELL can you expect a person with 1 year with the company to have the same benefits as someone with 30 years. People like you make me sick to the stomach. When you get your layoff letter stop by and see me before you leave. I will let you kiss my SENIOR AZZ GOODBYE.

What a class act, pretty much sums up everything you love to hate about union brotherhood.
Might as well post your name and address I'm sure you'll get some visitors.

Let me let you in on a secret. There is no unionism with the TWU or IAM. Both unions are about dues and IGM. Where was my union vote on representation?
We can't vote on side letters. That's real unionism. Seniority is all we have and we are tearing that apart from within. Maybe the next concession the association will have is Round Robin layoffs.

All i see in your post is a lot of "I".

Why would you be against having this voted on. If the Majority votes yes, for what ever reason. That is the way it works in this Country. I bet you are on of those people that think its ok to do the round robin vacation picks. Its sad that low seniority people what the same as high seniority people. Its that way of thinking that has caused US HIGH seniority to not care about you. Maybe you should call yourself IGM crowd. The truth is no matter what, most of you are not going to be working here after we get a contract, FACT. That is why its taking so long.

You contradict yourself, in one statement you say anything that comes up should be voted on. In another statement you take an issue with round robin VC picks. I guess you're forgetting that it must be voted in by the majority to be in place.

So do you want everything seniority now that you have some? Or do you want whatever the majority wants?

When did we have a vote on this system wide. If you don't know what you are talking about shut the hell up and let someone educate you. There should not be local deals. Everything should be done system wide. I'm sure even someone as small minded as you can understand that.

Maybe we should let the junior people have first dibs at shift and days off? Hell, while we're at it, why not start them off with 5 weeks vacation too?
Seniority is NOT entitlement! It is all we have left that has NOT been conceded.

Let's have the new hire bid before AL BLACKMAN! He only has 75 years seniority!

We all want a contract. But I doubt very much that we will get a contract WITHOUT giving something in return. As I have said before.....Considering all the concessions we gave since 2003, we should NEVER have to give anything ever again...But sadly, that is not how it is going to pan out. There is no way we are going to get everything we want while the company gets nothing. If we want to pursue this path, then we could very well go the way of UA/CO negotiations.

Seniority has been throat cutting as you put it, since at least 1983 when the B-Scale was developed.
Seniority is all you have it determines if you can become a lead or inspector, most of us in this industry have paid our dues, been through myself early in my career, lose a job and have to move and start over !

Right now if a station wants round robin they do a vote of those affected. You want a system vote, ok. So if we do a system vote and it passes then you agree it should switch to round robin everywhere?

living in the past doesn't get you any where can't change it ( sometime times we all wish we could ) its up to our NC to get us the best contract possible . so lets keep the pressure on them.

Well if we follow the UAL/CAL path then we are looking at 2023 before a JCBA.
