Aircraft maint issues

An aquaintance from Tulsa just sent a message that Tulsa is going to start another 737 line. He thinks it could be to take on the surplus from the back shops that Tulsa will have in the new scope language. He states an ex-union official has been spreading through the base that 1500 will be displaced with the new scope language.

Yea and they told everyone in Tulsa we will vote on the Association. Rumors are just that. Everyone is panicking because when a JCBA eventually happens there will be layoffs and work rule changes. So in the meantime rumors are thrown out there to keep the guys calm before the storm. Agreements in writing have no merit anymore with the TWU.

Doesn't any scope changes still have to be negotiated, accepted by the Negotiators and then voted on and passed by the Members?

(I know, I know 1AA "we didn't vote on the Association" just saving you some typing time)

Did you participate in the Informational Picketing? Will you participate in any endeavors at all to help try and keep Aircraft Maintenance work here in the USA?

Did you notice in DFW that AMFA, IAM, IBT and TWU ( all groups that represent Aircraft Mechanics) marched together?

Were YOU there?

Rumors are there directly tied to the "NON communications" from the asso. about what is on the table in negotiations. On another note; how could 1500 be on a chopping block if they are looking at bringing in another maint. line? Would they not add heads in Tulsa? Could it be fake news to get the members upset?
It case you haven't heard our union's ask has increased here at SWA on economics. The update can be read at amfanational if interested in the numbers. Your NC might be interested in what the changes are so they can get industry leading numbers at their nego's table. Our next sessions are scheduled for Aug 16-18 which is right at the 5 Year mark.

Why would you be against having this voted on. If the Majority votes yes, for what ever reason. That is the way it works in this Country. I bet you are on of those people that think its ok to do the round robin vacation picks. Its sad that low seniority people what the same as high seniority people. Its that way of thinking that has caused US HIGH seniority to not care about you. Maybe you should call yourself IGM crowd. The truth is no matter what, most of you are not going to be working here after we get a contract, FACT. That is why its taking so long.
The only IGM I see is YOU.

I absolutely believe in round robin vacation picks.

Why should junior employees be happy about being your "sacrificial lamb' so you can have ALL of the benefits and they can have all of the crumbs.

The fact is seniority sure the hell is not looking out for the people following them. You would slit the junior employees throat in a second if you thought you could get a buyout deal.

The truth is you and people like you have an unrealistic sense of entitlement. It's that kind of crap that turns people against UNIONS.

We won't get that until we have a T/ A and it gets voted in, to say we are asking for x number of dollars in negotiations doesn't mean crap until we have a contract, and the way we are going probably be 2018 ,before we see something to vote on !

seems like the everybody or somebody has a friend on the NC. They ( nc) say this is what is going on behind closed doors and all of a sudden there are rumors floating around. rumors people ...If the NC would come out with some positive to stay instead of negativity , would that be novel. yes its negotiations and it changes in a heart beat until they have the final sign off and bring it to us for a vote. until then rumors!!!

Do not forget they are opening a new line. The company can do as they please for I believe 90 days.

Seniority has been throat cutting as you put it, since at least 1983 when the B-Scale was developed.

A lot of rumors floating around about the companies comprehensive offer, like a 70K buyout and 20K signing bonus. Comical!
