One problem I see is the IGM crowd who would vote yes for anything that offers them a buyout (Like last time) no matter how badly it screws the rest of us. Also the IAM guys who are fat dumb and happy are yes votes waiting to happen. No matter how bad it is someone will say that it is a great deal and we need to vote on it. The biggest problem is we can't trust the membership. Question.... Outsourcing of overhaul work is a non issue to line guys so they vote yes right? We are a group of people who only care about themselves and nobody else. In my opinion a deal that is bad for some guys is a no vote. Unfortunately I think I am in the minority. With the IAM they have 30% guaranteed yes votes so they only need 21% more. Be careful what you wish for.
This is so true, I for one would love to see AAs proposal. My bet is, it's pretty good for line mechs and pretty bad for OH. Base on the fact that Isom said he wants USair scope, I'm thinking he's going to get USair scope, but GP is an AA guy and sees how devastating that will be for Tulsa. I for one don't really care about Tulsa, but would not want to see thousands of guys lose their job.
I'm glad I'm not on the NC and have to fight to save jobs. What heavy responsibility those guys have.
Old guy is right, we shouldn't see it. TUL probably wouldn't fare too well if we saw AAs proposal. But unless AAs proposal is so bad and insulting to ALL mechs, then we should deffenantly should see it. If the NC wants us all to be united as one.
I'm just going to trust in our NC.
