Aircraft maint issues

One problem I see is the IGM crowd who would vote yes for anything that offers them a buyout (Like last time) no matter how badly it screws the rest of us. Also the IAM guys who are fat dumb and happy are yes votes waiting to happen. No matter how bad it is someone will say that it is a great deal and we need to vote on it. The biggest problem is we can't trust the membership. Question.... Outsourcing of overhaul work is a non issue to line guys so they vote yes right? We are a group of people who only care about themselves and nobody else. In my opinion a deal that is bad for some guys is a no vote. Unfortunately I think I am in the minority. With the IAM they have 30% guaranteed yes votes so they only need 21% more. Be careful what you wish for.

This is so true, I for one would love to see AAs proposal. My bet is, it's pretty good for line mechs and pretty bad for OH. Base on the fact that Isom said he wants USair scope, I'm thinking he's going to get USair scope, but GP is an AA guy and sees how devastating that will be for Tulsa. I for one don't really care about Tulsa, but would not want to see thousands of guys lose their job.

I'm glad I'm not on the NC and have to fight to save jobs. What heavy responsibility those guys have.

Old guy is right, we shouldn't see it. TUL probably wouldn't fare too well if we saw AAs proposal. But unless AAs proposal is so bad and insulting to ALL mechs, then we should deffenantly should see it. If the NC wants us all to be united as one.

I'm just going to trust in our NC.

All I hear is nothing but negative feed back from the union and the NC. how about something positive instead of complaining about what we are not getting. Do your job and get

All I hear from the union and NC is negativity . How about this what we are going to do to get a contract 1. sit down with the company and negotiate a deal . 2. come to an agreement the suits both parties. 3. then let us vote on it . I know it sounds to simple but this infighting with the iam and the twu has to stop. Be big boys and GET IT DONE!!!!!!

I hear a lot of cricket sounds......somebody say something positive for a change...come people we can do it.

Why would you be against having this voted on. If the Majority votes yes, for what ever reason. That is the way it works in this Country. I bet you are on of those people that think its ok to do the round robin vacation picks. Its sad that low seniority people what the same as high seniority people. Its that way of thinking that has caused US HIGH seniority to not care about you. Maybe you should call yourself IGM crowd. The truth is no matter what, most of you are not going to be working here after we get a contract, FACT. That is why its taking so long.

I don't hear anything positive yet!!!!! No more us against us . Let the NC here us speak...contract NOW!!! ...contract NOW!!!

HAD ENOUGH YET?
I did along time ago. It's the knuckleheads that keep asking do we have a contract yet and where's my money. Meanwhile another month goes by and the profits roll in and the IAM is silent.

I for one would like to see Doug's proposal. I think sometimes the union forgets they work for me , not me for them. If it is truly a bad proposal then we vote "NO" how difficult is that. I'm afraid that the union is not getting enough money put into the international bank account!
They all promised ILC. So if any part of it is not IL then the union should reject it before we all start crying about it. The ones that are crying the most are the ones hoping for an early out package.

Negotiations are a joke.
Updates are pathetic.
Negotiations schedule is on a 10 year pace.
Company and the Industry globally is thriving.
The IAM doesn't give a rats A$$.
The whole Association is a sham.
Samuelson should request to pull out of the Association.
Work being outsourced domestically and internationally.
And all I hear is do we have a contract yet?

Talked to friend in DFW, who's friends with union guys. IAM TWU nc all on same page. Working well together and IAM guys at picket wearing AA mech uniform. That's why no IAM t shirts only like 30 some mechs there.

Wow I actually agree with the lion king, the only reason we do not have a contract yet is because AA decided to move back the retirement dates on the MD80's and some 757's. They needed Tulsa for a few more years, so they delayed a contract that I think will be geared towards an early retirement for many of us in Tulsa .
