Seniority is all you have it determines if you can become a lead or inspector, most of us in this industry have paid our dues, been through myself early in my career, lose a job and have to move and start over !

To clarify, the 1983 example was the "A Scale" mechanics gaining benefits before those not hired yet "B Scale" mechanics, were place on a lower pay scale with a longer time to top out. This continued through a "C Scale" mechanic with varies contractual changes etc.. The point being to ensure that a contract passed.

2nd question. Someone posted a teamster letter of how they were nego. medical at the table with their group. That does not mean that this group will get the very same medical does it? Just curious.

UNIONs have and always will push entitlement. It is part of how they survive.

One of the best perks about not working for American Airlines is I don't work with a bunch of lazy, entitled, greedy people.

I will say in TULE our most senior people were nothing more than entitled parasites living off of someone else's labor. They had nothing better to do than sit in the crew chiefs office day after day soaking up air conditioning and inventing new ways of wasting 8 hours a day. They did not even do their most basic job functions.

Too many in my Seniority range have become fat and weak honestly.

I do love it when people provide me ammo.

If the Union was ever voted out I'd apply for Management the next day. Might as well since either way I have no "employment contract" and I wouldn't spin my wheels for years trying to get it back and I might as well make more money and do less physical labor. (Your question gave me a no win scenario IMO)
