Aircraft maint issues

To my fellow brothers and sister mechanics at AA, I congratulate you all on a fantastic showing today at DFW info picketing. Great to see the Pilots and F/A's of American Airlines showing their great support for you guys. Also great to see my fellow AMFA brothers and sisters from Local 11 showing up to help as well. So sorry NOT to see the IAM out there. Great showing in numbers and unity, keep up the great work guys and good luck for getting to an industry leading contract...

the lack of support from the IAM speaks volumes. after this is said and done we need to deal with that.
I honestly don't see how the two NC's can now sit in the same room and there not be any hostilities or tension. We are learning more and more every day what the IAM leadership is all about.

The only way is to rid ourselves of the TWU, IAM and the Association.

God help us. We need all the help we can get. Normal people would have dumped the association a long time ago after all the crap they pulled over and over. Unfortunately we keep taking it in the shorts. This is beyond humorous. It's just plain pathetic.

It's pretty bad when another IAM local gives support (Local 776 Lockheed Martin) and our own IAM local is as silent as a dead fish in the pond. This has got to be the most dysfunctional union group ever in the history of unionism. How much more are we going to let this continue?

It was great to see so many groups and unions out there. I was very pleased to see AMFA walking with us. I made sure I was able to shake their hands and tell them thank you. We will be there to support you guys when needed. Once again, THANK YOU!!

Great turn out, great to see the APA, APFA and AMFA supporting us. Where the F*** is the IAM, you know the other half of the association!!!!

WTF!!!!

No problem gentlemen. It really was great to see TWU and AMFA walking side by side in full support. Very glad to see the past stay in the past between these two unions. I will indeed pass on the word. Also do not hesitate to keep AMFA National as well as AMFA locals in other cities as you guys plan more info pickets. Our AMFA National may not be able to continuously show up but they will help with getting the word out to our members nation wide.
I too would agree that it would be hard to sit at the same table for the IAM, they have a lot of explaining to do...

Sounds like the membership needs to file for lack of representation from the IAM, force a vote between the IAM and the TWU, go with the TWU and kick the IAM to the curb !

You know your union is only as good as the officers are, how much control do you have over the IAM, do you have enough political clout at American to get some of the top officer slots, or at least in your local, or have some of your guys become trustees of your local ?

When this crap was dumped on us I was chastised for saying the company would use one union against the other, I guess if one union is happy and only supports the other with lip service it kind of makes my statement true. IMHO

You won't see a negotiations update this week. Because there weren't any!

Even when there are negotiations scheduled the IAM still post the same BS Until the IAM recognize TWU as the other union trying to keep work in house we will always have issues with the company. Doug and the boys can wait forever to give us a fair contract. Remember building a hangar in South American does not help anyone
