Aircraft maint issues

The way I'm envisioning is this. The smaller (US AIRWAYS) is changing the way the larger (AA) does maintenance. Eventually the smaller (IAM) will force their ways unto the (TWU). Unfortunately since we were tricked into this association, there is very little we can do about. I hope I'm wrong about my way of thinking.
Yes sure keep believing that.
B Checks gone.
Inspector removed from B checks.
MEL's dropping on last day in the middle of the day.
Parts inventory shrunk down.
Phase check cards killing trips.
Phase check cards being outsourced to South America and out stations by contract maintenance.
Empty hangars in DFW. Largest line base in the system.
Heavies outsourced.
Interior mods and upgrades going to Hong Kong.

If this is how USAIR did it no wonder they hit BK twice and the M&E headcount is so low. Yea I'd say it's a good way of doing things if the result is failure.

And here we are the day before the info picketing and still no public support from any IAM officials. How pathetic. Don't even try to say that the IAM did not know this news release was coming out. This asso. is made up of BOTH the TWU and the IAM and they are well aware of the picketing tomorrow. There is no excuse for them not submitting at least a one sentence paragraph of support saying they too will honor the pickets. This is just sad hog...

We have support from the pilots and even AMFA. So where is the IAM support? All this outsourcing affects us all. IAM and TWU.

We are on our own in regards to the IAM. This gaf will be remembered for sometime.

I want to thank you guys for welcoming and inviting AMFA to help you guys support the up coming picket. AMFA was honored to be asked and has accepted the very next day with no hesitation. Here we are the day before picket day, and obviously under severe pressure, the IAM decides to throw a support letter out. Now let's look at this said support letter. They are only throwing out their support for the TWU to nego a good contract. It does NOT support or even mention one iota about the picketing tomorrow, or any slamming of the companies slow dragging nego's tactics. That was just a freakin slap in the face. My God IAM, the AMFA is showing up in person at DFW by invitation from the TWU and you guys only put out this PATHETIC letter of what, support? I think not. Weak IAM very Weak and PATHETIC!!! The TWU received much, much more support letters, actions, videos and yes in person on the picketing lines from the PIlots, F/A's, mechanics, fleet, and other AA unions on property. Even long, long time rival AMFA National and AMFA members out of our Dallas loc 11 will be there. just how bad does this look IAM? This will be remembered for some time to come IAM. Absolutely the worse move you could have done period. Good luck tomorrow guys. Post all the pics pls...

I want my TWU brothers and sisters that you have my full support tomorrow. I agree with you that I am embarrassed that the IAM is not sending members to your informational picketing. You as TWU members are trying to let the flying public how the company is not willing to treat you with the respect mechanics deserve. I spoke with some IAM brothers about why their not supporting your picketing and they agree that the IAM should do more. The IAM as far as I'm concerned have not supported their members either. That is why a card drive was started two years ago. IAM members need to wake up! Good luck tomorrow brothers and sisters.

Until we all realize that it's we (TWU or IAM) or them (IAM or TWU ) instead of us being one in this association that the unions wanted we will always be divided.
The worse is yet to come. Wait till we can transfer to all stations. Think we can all get along?

Does anyone know why these Letters of Support are omitting TWU Local 514?

Guess that's what I was trying to say. The smaller airline/union is just taking over and changing the larger airline/union.

Correct. The implosion is coming in a big way. Sorry for you brother...

Such a great support letter hog. The TWU must be proud of the fantastic support letter for the up coming TWU info picketing, from the IAM. What a sad freakin reality. Speaks volumes about this BS asso. forced upon you guys...

You can say that again. And why is that? THe IAM runs this asso. NOT the TWU. And it also appears that the TWU has absolutely no say so in these negotiations. I really hope this is not true, but we will all see.
