Aircraft maint issues

Just skimmed thru the scope clause and I have to say that’s the cleanest and most solid scope language I have ever seen as an AA mechanic.
All the caveats and BS have been removed that currently apply to our current scope.
50% outsourcing with the cleaned up language, station protection and the other language improvements make this scope one I can live with.
I have been one of,,if not the most,, vocal on scope clauses over the years and this is the first time I’ve read black and white and not ambiguous crap.
The twu over the years have come up with and or promoted and sold some of the most pathetic and ridiculous scope language that could possibly be written. They definitely had no hand in writing this one.


In conclusion I would take this 50% outsourcing scope as written over the current 35% as written any day of the week.

If you look at Attachment B, Line Maintenance is still at 15% spend and not hours.

Shoot for the moon and settle for more if ya can. More in pay, bonus, and where the hell is the retro offer? You guys fully deserve retro from end of last contract to DOS. I would also fight for that 7 weeks vac.

The offer is a good starting point. Some things I`d want to see improved off the top of my head. Are you taking notes company folks?

1. Improved 401k contribution
2. Retiree medical bridge
3. Retro all hours worked back to 9-12-2018
4. Better differentials
5. 7th day double time language
6. 7th week vacation @30years
8. Medical insurance cap and lower cost

But the association want work on those there 2 worried about future dues money. I’m glad the company posted there proposals keeps the association from giving up something for us current members for future members. The association want even release there proposals there scared to I’m sure. I bet if the association would drop the iampf the company would work on some of those items you mentioned.

They’re working on it. Don’t forget that the Company dropped their proposals on a Friday while the TWU was in Orlando having their Presidents Council.

Did you know that we have AMT’s on our Fleet Group pages because they say they don’t get informed on any of their pages. A guy just yesterday asked me if I wanted him to leave because he is an AMT. Of course I told him absolutely not.
