Aircraft maint issues

It’s great that you were hoping, but it’s not anything you’ll have to live under. I’m just fine with it. It’s work that wasn’t ours and wasn’t going to be ours. Downplay it all you want- meanwhile your own company is doing the exact same thing by building hangars and even employing people in Brazil to do the same thing. It’s a global economy - what do I owe the non union hack at AAR to make sure he’s employed? I’m doing what I have to do for my family, and what me and my coworkers feel is in OUR best interest. As far as unemployment lines? If there’s no capacity at stateside MROs, which is why southwest said they wanted the ability to outsource internationally- then I fail to see how mechanics would lose their jobs at the MROs.
Go ahead, spin spin away with your boy rich about how evil amfa is. It’s tired and played out, and no one is listening anymore.

I’m not judging you or your Union frankly. Read in any of my comments where I said what you guys should or shouldn’t do? If our guys here at AA want to do the same thing at the end of the day in any of the groups that will be up to the will of the Majority when they have the opportunity to vote.

Don’t ever misconstrue that I don’t want more money either. Not even 100% sure where my personal line that I won’t cross is to be able to gain more?

Seriously blue color good luck in your vote.

Just starting to hit the news media. Here's AMFA National release...

Press Release: AMFA and Southwest Airlines Reach Tentative Agreement For Aircraft Maintenance Technicians
April 3, 2019 – After almost seven years of negotiations, the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA) and Southwest Airlines (SWA) announced a tentative agreement (TA) on a proposed contract for the airline’s Aircraft Maintenance Technicians. The TA includes significant pay increases, headcount protections, and job protection provisions.

If you interviewed Brett today, I wonder if he is glad he left American. Our dues, will increase some with ratification, but will help AMFA grow in the long run.

If your dues are increasing because your earning more in hourly wages that’s a good thing I would say.

Maybe if you’re interested you guys should go after the unorganized niche groups. I think there’s a decent amount of them out there completely untapped?

It wasn't a compliant our dues will go up, with our pay increase, as should be expected. It is good we will have financial security for our union.

As long as all of those Lawsuits are now smoldering paper in fire you should?

My guess is that information will come out after your voting results come out?

The lawsuits will be dropped on ratification, the grievances stay.

Well the reality is you wait till you read it happen for yourself and not just believe what anybody tells you. Unless the Union and the Company put it in writing that you need to pass your deals for the War to end, I’d tread cautiously.

It was in the first email that the lawsuits would be dropped on ratification, but the grievances would stay.

Your clueless

Just in the Mechanic and Related Contract there are 15 Classifications.

The Association is negotiating four agreements.
Mechanic and Related
Stores
Ramp
Maintenance Instructors.

Wrong again swampy.
The maintenance and related one contract, with different job titles, so unless the company wants radical scope changes for the 15 jobs , that's one. Stores 2 contracts .Ramp 3,-Maintenance instructors 4. One reason our maintenance contract got complicated is because we added maintenance control, and technical instructors into ours.

Those classifications are already in the M&R CBA, Instructors have their own CBA. Swampy wrote you negotiated for five groups, you negotiated ONE CBA, not five. So once again at AA there are 15 classifications just in the M&R CBA, follow along.
Swampy was correct when the tech instructors and maintenance controllers signed AMFA cards they wanted their own contract, the company said No, and made us take them into ours with all new language, they were non union, including technical support, because Airtran tech support were union, ours were non union. So 3 contracts forced into one. AMFA also represents cleaners separate contract. Facilities maintenance , AMFA separate contracts. So enough about SWA, what's next for you guys?
