If you guys outvote Tulsa, why would you agree to sacrifice pay to keep people moving form Tulsa or just attrition, I don't get it?

The thing is, we have nothing to vote on. We see now the big holdup is scope, and by GPs rhetoric it’s all about future heads. We as a membership do not get to line item veto what is in or what is out of a contract, it’s always saving heads, and line AMTs were always outvoted. Line AMTs are just now the majority, but we as a group are fractured between 2 unions that we didn’t get to vote on.

Listening to Dale’s speech, it seems like he has a real displeasure with working holidays. With us in the expensive to live areas, it’s about daily living and saving for retirement. I’m sure Dales major complaint isn’t working holidays, but it’s a poor argument in a townhall meeting, with a majority of airline workers who work through every holiday.

I would like to see the last best offer in its full form and see if the majority of AMTs approve or disapprove of AAs offer.

I personally don’t trust our union guys as they fought against the 2010 TA, and we have lost out on OVER $150k dollars each. They have a proven track record of being wrong about what AA will do and how much they are willing to negotiate. That Association rhetoric of no more airline by GP was pretty intimidating just like when the NWA AMFA guys said it, before they were all replaced.

Trump is pushing the U.S. closer and closer to conflict, we are slowly losing our window.

bigjets, are you looking to take the buyout? Is that why you want to vote on the pathetic offer from the company?

Retirement is great, come join us! NOT at the expense of those left behind. I agree an early out shouldn't be part of the contract, it's just the company trying to buy votes.

American Management Continues Disrespect of 30,000 TWU-IAM Association Members

Since American management walked out of talks in late March, the TWU-IAM Association mechanic and related, stores and fleet service negotiating committees have been fully prepared to resume joint contract bargaining and bring these negotiations to a successful conclusion. Instead of making a good faith effort to to reach a fair agreement with 30,000 American Airlines ground workers and get back to work, American management has opted to conduct company-controlled road-shows in an attempt to bypass your negotiating committees. This diversion only serves to prolong the process and prevent Association members from reaping the benefits of a fair joint contract.

“Enough is enough. Association members have waited long enough for a fair joint contract,” said Alex Garcia and Sito Pantoja, Association Chair and Vice Chair, respectively. “The Association has been ready to resume talks since American management walked out of negotiations, but the Company seems more interested in holding their corporate side-shows than they are in reaching a fair agreement. Each day that American management refuses to negotiate is a slap in the face of 30,000 workers.”

In late March, talks broke down as American Airlines Executive Vice President Stephen Johnson—who had never before been in negotiations—stormed out of the room because the Association rejected American’s proposals regarding medical and retirement benefits, wages, scope/job security and profit sharing, which were wholly inadequate.

“We are deeply concerned over American’s refusal to negotiate and their seeming attempt to bend Association members to their will,” continued Garcia and Pantoja. “Make no mistake, we will not bend to American’s will, we stand ready to negotiate and we are fully prepared to mobilize the Association’s significant resources and bring this process to a conclusion that provides 30,000 Association members a fair joint contact that they can be proud of.”

"we are fully prepared to mobilize the Association’s significant resources".....That ought to have the company shaking in their boots!

I’ll be working for over a decade. I don’t like that buyouts should be part of contract either. The 2012 guys voted in the worst contract yet, took their money and left, then sued us for our equity.

Neither of us know how good or pathetic that contract offer is until we get to read it all. The real question is, does a majority of the AMTs like the contract offer?

I'm long retired my friend, I do miss the work from time to time!

I've seen the "bullet points" presented by the company, why on God's green earth would you want to vote for that? The bullet points are going to be the "good" stuff, the rest is guaranteed to be garbage.

I think you missed Dale's intent. Of course retirement is a huge issue and a bigger one than holidays but you must understand he was in a room full of management people who have not missed a holiday in their whole career. They'll be getting another one soon and those of us who do work in Tulsa will see them all gone and we'll be here by ourselves. I think he just wanted to point that out.

I hear ya big jets, we have some guys pissed off, with this offer, being 2% off from what they think they are owed, maybe as much as a big 5% People need to start paying attention, you can argue of 10 years, trying to get everything you think you should. The window is closing, but some people are either to stubborn , or to stupid, the world is changing. God only knows what the Orange hair clown in the white house is going to do next! :)

When AA Was asking for pay cuts . The twu and the company had a deal in 2 weeks are so. The twu did not ask for snap back like the pilots did and received . If the company cry’s during bad times and take they sure can give back full when times are good. I am a restore and more guy. The executives sure have no problem taking bonuses when the airlines losing and employees gave give backs. You guys deserve that 2 percent and more southwest drug out the negotiations over 5 years . That eugals pay cuts southwest was making money big time and did not increase your pay one bit. If I’m not mistaken the southwest pilots got full retro and you guys did not. That’s worth fighting for. You guys have a weapon also the ETOPS and y’all should use it. Southwest can’t go to Hawaii till y’all have it in your contract if I understand correctly. And southwest wants to do inter island flights also. So I hope you guys turn it down I understand why AMFA brought it back. If you guys and gals turn it down by a big margin and show southwest how yall. Feel us in labor can not keep rolling over and let company’s get away with this crap. The nmb limits what we can do but we need to unite and get what we deserve.

I see. So 3500 Base MX is the total number. They say no one will lose their jobs BUT, if only 1000 take the buy-out then 2500 will get cut, that's a loss of jobs no matter how the company wants to phrase it.
If 1000 take the early out, 3500 becomes 2500. So no hiring at this point.

Right. Just a word game so not to ruffle the membership. The company will remove 3500 rather in buy-outs or by rifs. Now hopefully the buy-out offer will be enough to get their 3500 so no cuts are required but I highly doubt that.

Yes they should be. It's a voting game done by the company and if this asso allows it just means the asso. is in bed with the company for a yes vote outcome, period...

"we are fully prepared to mobilize the Association’s significant resources".....That ought to have the company shaking in their boots!
My question to that effect if they have it why haven’t they used it before now

Maybe another one of those informational pickets might get us a JCBA. The last ones just didn' meet up to standards. We didn't' yell and scream and bang those signs hard enough.

It will probably pass, because it has been six years, and it makes us mostly whole, with no loss in scope. There is no guarantee how long the next deal with take. You can't put that much money in front of people and not expect them to take it. Especially when you kept your scope language. If you guys maintained your language, and gained your holidays and your double time back, plus a decent 401k match you guys would jump all over it. Also a raise in pay.
