Aircraft maint issues

That Facebook page has 2 Admins. One his profile doesn't even say if he's a Mechanic and the other is TWU Local 568 "FLEET SERVICE" President Sidney Jiminez.

Oh and there are some FSC's in the group BTW. And 700UW is there as well.

Enjoy.

(Edit) Just looked at the members list and there are A LOT of Clerks in there.

I will let the obvious comment slide here in the interest of a civil conversation.
Your fb Kung fu is strong Weez. I'm in that group and can't see that kind of information. All I see is total members. Care to share how you came by that information? I'm the first to admit my kung-fu in such matters is weak. How many members in that group Weez?

I will never understand why the FSC workgroup has such an interest in what mechanics want to do. They get involved in who we want as representatives and now what fb group we would like. So we can have conversations amongst ourselves.

422 members currently. A little over half a dozen have joined in the last few days and most of them are out of TUL. One guy was a maintenance CC in MIA and I saw a guy in RDU.

I think I can tell which one might be Old Guy? The one with the cigar in his mouth?

Didn't see any new DFW peeps but I only did a quick sweep.

And no I'm not a member either. :)

You have to remember. Many Mechanics started in the FSC ranks. They have lots of very good friends.

Do you think just because they become Mechanics they should abandon their friendships?

I also have mechanic friends.

I have friends in fsc too. However that has nothing to do with the weird fascination the FSC group has with the AMT group and what we do.

I know you don't like this comment but maybe some of those guys are just interested and care about their friends. If I have friends in maintenance shouldn't I care about them and want to understand the difficulties they face?

I honestly don't like all this division between so many of us.

Maintenance hates Fleet
Fleet hates Maintenance
TWU hates IAM
IAM hates TWU
Line hates Overhaul
Overhaul hates Line
I hate NYer
NYer hates me
This group looks down on that group
That group looks down on this group

Why can't or why shouldn't an FSC want to support a Mechanic and vice versa? Seriously?

I also LOVE Science and have a fascination on seeing people work on mechanical things. I loved like a little kid going to both NASA in Houston and here in Florida.

I would love going to a Boeing facility and seeing what they do and I'm sure I would love going to TUL and seeing what they do.

Maybe some Clerks still have that little kid in them?

All good points Weez. However none of those awnser why the FSC group gets involved, interferes or meddlesome in AMT conversation or interest in different representation. I'm just thinking out loud here so to speak. I'm not interested in heated convo this morning. Just enjoying my coffee and listening to a nice Texas thunderstorm moving thru.

I've NEVER cared who you guys want to represent you as long as you're trying to get that through honesty. It's the "fake news" people that get on my nerves. And again having friends in your skilled trade keeps me interested and involved.

Now when you guys talk about actual Aircraft Maintenance (The job function) issues I've rarely ever gotten involved. I don't know or understand enough to be involved and won't even pretend to.

But I do read those conversations and occasionally might step in to ask a question? (And always hope I won't be treated like crap for being curious)

I'm only arrogant and a D to "people" who attack me. I honestly and sincerely respect what you guys do for a living. The kid inside me thinks it's pretty cool actually.

BTW those cool Thunderstorms is something I do miss about DFW. As long as I wasn't working and there wasn't a tornado attached.

Here's a pic of the Group page you guys were talking about. Now you go to Group Info and click on the Tab that says "View Admins"

There you'll see two guys. One was Sidney Jiminez and the other guy if you view his page and look for "About" you'll see it doesn't say that he's a Mechanic or works for AA? He might though?

And you'll also notice I've never clicked on the Tab that says join group.

OK, gotcha. We are talking about different groups. That's not the fb AMT page I'm on.

That was the one that DFW GEN wrote out. You should post a link so these other guys can find the right one?

(Don't worry I'll never hit the "Join Group" Tab :D)
