Aircraft maint issues

Yes. way different formula.
Would it be safe to say LUS mechanics like their way better?

BTW, I think the recent TULE engine news, albeit good, is in exchange for something else. Don't know what, but something else.
Metal, maybe something to do with the new facility in Brazil?

No we use to have all the backshops in CLT, some in PIT, and our landing gear and plating shop was in INT.

We lost 46% of out maintenance workforce including 900 Utility ( Aircraft cleaning line, heavy and shops) when our CBA was abrogated.

No one likes it but it is what it is.

We also have a protected headcount between CLT and PIT heavy. Also the work done in PHX hangars are protected.

Also certain line stations can’t be closed and we have a minimum number of how many line stations must be open.

What about stock clerks and lav dumpers?

Just asking , I don't work there remember. It all depends on what your new contract language says. You can protect current head count. But then limit your growth, because they move jobs out of the country.

They have also been looking at taking work through attrition. One has been the entire Facilities Maintenance group which I personally for a few reasons find to be complete BS.

I’m not comfortable with even the thought of that job being subcontracted out cause I’ve called Facilities many times for things and they do a spectacular job. I can only imagine having to deal with anyone else from all the other Departments (chit) AA has outsourced.

And the New AA can afford to keep jobs like that that have value here in house.

Many may disagree on the definition of outsourcing, but the the hangar will be staffed by AA employees.
Just like LHR and CDG just to name two.

Those are non USA Union, non USA Citizens, non USA Tax payers. So what does it matter how the Company wants to label them?

Metal could you transfer to that Brazilian Hanger and be compensated at your USA wage rate?

Excuse me? What’s the difference? Does Brazil just sound a little more exotic or something?

Don’t fall for the marketing man.
Not the marketing WeAAzz at least they are American employees, that's all, but could lead to job losses!

We have AA mechanics all over South America. I went to school with one from Medellin.

Ok hold on maybe it’s me here? How exactly do any of my USA based AMT Brothers and Sisters benefit from the fact that American Airlines Management has assured us the World is just peachy keen fine and dandy because those workers “IN BRAZIL” are American Airlines (Not American) employees????????

Can I transfer down to Brazil and earn $30.00 per hour loading flights in GRU?

Are you saying that they are US Citizens working there?

Is that guy from Medellin a US Taxpayer?

Could you put in a transfer and work in that Hanger in Brazil for the wages and benefits you receive here?
