Aircraft maint issues

Sorry guys but this is beginning to sound like a “Woe is me pity session” coming around from every angle.

“Can’t we all just get along”

Rodney King.

The IAM encouraged and facilitated concessions at TW and UA outside of BK.

Josh
Again the weez is trying to deflect when shown or proven wrong.
Yes it was outside of BK's, Tom just likes to try and use that for an excuse. The mechanics know what happened.

Today’s update:

For those of you who weren’t aware. In 2014 (Who cares what date exactly) the TWU and IAM formed an Association. The leaders of BOTH Unions at the time claimed we would get to vote if we wanted them to associate or not.

They BOTH LIED, 100%. We never got to vote. And I’m sure they probably knew we weren’t going to vote and certainly didn’t want us to vote.

Anyway. When the hell are we getting our contracts to vote on?

I have a hunch it is coming soon.

The IAM has never met a concession they didn’t like and ultimately helped the company attain if it meant preserving (or growing) their dues flow. Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Caterpillar, USAIR, UGE, McGee, just as a few examples.

I don’t know about this Tom poster but I can recall the posts where 700 repeatedly told people they would get to vote on the alliance/association and spoke highly of it (along with the IAMNPF).

Josh

I hope so? Then you guys can concentrate on serious stuff instead of all this nonsense.
My reason being is GP. He feels we should have something by year's end. But I doubt that it would be that soon because we have to have a TA by Friday. His optimism all of a sudden does say alot.
And I can't wait. I am ready to take a sabbatical from this board after this is done

The IAM never said there would be an election.

You see Tom, even the weez knew it was promised by both sides IAM and TWU. Nice try to save face for your beloved IAM by you. They are not innocent at all. Both sides knew exactly how the vote was gonna turn out (it would have been shot down in flames) therefore they completely screwed the membership out of a vote and went a round about way to get the NMB to certify the asso. with no vote.
It was also promised by the IAM in writing and in verbals to the members and at union meetings.
Now, don't let the facts get in your way Tom...

The A$$ even states in their FAQs that there would be a vote by classification for covered employees. The IAM was the one wearing the pants for the first two years. Maybe I can try to find a quote out there from an IAM mouth piece from May 2013 when this all got announced but the official a$$ website even states that much.

Swamt remember we contacted the NMB?

Metal are there still some mechanics thinking more like Sep. 2018 time frame for a contract? Or are they thinking early 2018? Just curious if some have changed their timeframe as of lately???

Who cares?

Water under the bridge.

Many would say the same about you and others using bankrupties from 2002 and 2004 as justification for substandard agreements and language.

The LUS IAM negotiators had an opportunity to improve upon the language in 2014, it was the first section six since 1999, right?

Yes I did. And yes others finally did contact the NMB after I strongly suggested that they do so because 700, the IAM and the TWU were lying their butts off to the membership. The NMB flat out told me they had no jurisdiction to hold an election when the IAM and the TWU combined and they said there will be no such vote, period. Then another guy "claimed" he called the NMB and that they told him there will be an election. I called them back to verify or deny this new statement and the NMB again very clearly said there will be no election held by the NMB, that it would be strictly up to the unions involved to conduct any election by the membership. Then Bam, the two unions involved went thru the backdoor of the NMB and had them certify the asso. with no vote. Most of the membership believed that there would be a vote and therefore kept calm and did not start the mad rush of card signings to drastically increase. That is why they lied to all of you about the vote.
