I actually stopped sparring with Swamt , we are on the same team, just like you guys are. I figure whoever is done first either one will be 3% above. And then Delta gets their automatic raise above whoever is higher.
You also have to remember your Fleet has a lot of maintenance holidays, unlike the LUS Fleet.
I foresee the same or less of a percentage of overhaul outsourcing, I also see some of Tulsa’s white spaces being filled with some LUS Fleet. If our NC is successful in bringing in LUS components, CLT backshops reopening or TULE expansion.
To me the only base in danger would be PIT.
CLT has two bays not utilized.
So CLT could do all 320 family or if any LUS 757s, 333s and 332 if they bring that work back. CLT also use to do the 767 HMV.
And PHX only does light work and C-checks.
I see a combo of outsourcing and insourcing happening.
I see no job losses but some movement of jobs.
I also see more line work and no outsourcing of line like what we have in the IAM CBA.
These are my thoughts and opinions.
None. They closed all our shops in 2005 after our CBA was abrogated.
That’s why I’m hoping to capture that work again since you all do it at LAA. So TULE can gain work and/or the CLT shops reopen, hopefully both will occur.
The most important thing is if the company is willing to have shop work supporting the newer aircraft components, that's your future to maintaining head count in your shops. If they only maintain on the older airplanes like the MD 80s, once those aircraft are gone, there go your shops.None. That’s why I asked Buck here yesterday about the shops in Tulsa. Did they back fill the shops when the 80 were upgraded from the shops to the hangar? The answer might give us a clue as to managements in-house maintenance philosophy going forward. We have 3 shops here at DWH. Slide, coffee maker and battery. They are currently upgrading the last AMTOs from those shops and are not filling their positions. Headcount for all 3 shops will be 36 OSM. The general consensus is these shops will be closed or moved soon.
That guy stalks me, he goes to every single one of my posts and gives it a X.Conehead gave me an X on this post. What’s the matter Conehead you prefer to be a pessimist?
You are a MAJOR pessimist.
Yes they do. Best in the industry thus far, topped SWA's last offer in 09 of 75K.Settling for less?
UA I understand has an agreement for $100,000 buy out and that 1000 have signed up for it.
The city of Tulsa I believe is participating in an expansion at the Overhaul base. I understand 5000 employees must be kept here and the company revieved a nice rate on the loan. One reason for the headcount reduction has to do with the age of the mechanics.
Correct. Cap set at 100K no more. Pretty good buy-out offer, but the teamsters new contract was not industry leading as they promised when they were trying to get in. Remember the "we promise to reopen the contract and nego new wages and rules?" Well, they never did that either. They also promised the UAL mechanics that they would get them the teamsters pension, another failure by the teamsters and more. According to the UAL mechanics their first teamster contract after they took over was concessionary as well.UAs early out that was voted in was a max of $100,000. That’s $5.000 per year of service up to 20 years. That will buy a few years of medical till age 65.
Four month old video, and its quite apparent you dont know and understand the outsourcing differences.
At LUS they can outsource 50% of billable hours of heavy maintenance, and they can NOT outsource any line maintenance.
At LAA they can outsource 35% of the TOTAL Maintenance budget.
There you go again with the #Fake News.
The Association has NEVER promised that, yet you continue to post that wrong information and yet you have been asked numerous times to post it, you wont and you tell others to post it.
You are making the claim, now back it up once and for all or just stop posting the wrong information.
