Aircraft maint issues

They aren’t building back shops in the hangar

They state they are only doing the work inside that is already being done in Brazil by AA mechanics.

So until the first plane in Brazil that heavy maintenance is done none of us can say they are lying about what they are doing.

Why would they invest money in a hangar for heavy maintenance while there is capacity in CLT, PIT, PHX and TULE?

Why would they invest money in a hangar for heavy maintenance while there is worldwide capacity at MROs?

Makes no sense moniteraly at all especially since no one know what Scope Language will be in our new CBA.

Time to stop the conspiracy theories till we actuall see what happens.
Seems like a pretty sound analysis to me.

The fact they are not using existing capacity is pretty telling though.

Damn now I am a crack smoking pipe bull **** artist.
I now know I pissed you off. SMILE.
When you Grow the Balls and say who you are. Then We can meet in person and see if you will have the BALLS to call me all of these names. But we all know you won't .Because you a just a COWARD. That is why you don't have a wife. Hey thats it. You are Jealous of My wife and my Life. LOL

Historically you two are required to meet at the middle of mainstreet with six guns to settle your issue.

There is something called an ignore icon! :)

Conspiracy theory? We already know that the company wants to chop heads. It’s been alluded to by management a couple of times that we have too many mechanics. The wide body overhaul has already been brought back stateside from HK but is being done in Mobile. I’m not concerned about heavy overhaul going to Brazil as much as I am the scheduled light work we do in house now. The company has stated they merely want to provide cover for the work being done while the aircraft sit for 12 hours. I don’t believe those two bays in Brazil will sit empty the other half of the day. I believe there will be 2 or more widebody aircraft in work there at all times. Plugging them in and out of the schedule just like they do stateside. They aren’t investing in a hangar and tooling just to do PS checks.

Really?

Then why did they just bring engine work back in-house?

There will not be job losses in the JCBA.

The Association is not going to agree on losing jobs, jobs might get moved around.

And yes the work was brought in under the LAA/TWU CBA, why would you think otherwise?
I wouldn't but if guys have to chase a job, because their position has been eliminated in a city, they wouldn't be happy, not like that has never happened in the industry, but no one would be laid off.

Yeah, really. I believe based on executive comments and Peterson’s updates that the company wants to worsen LAA Scope. Will an early out absorb it? Will a job in another city be offered? Either way I think we will have less AMTs in the new JCBA.
Back shops are being emptied and no one is being recalled or hired to fill the positions. When AFW and then TAESL was closed everyone retired or went to a position in the system. No jobs lost in companyspeak but there sits a hangar and engine overhaul facility once filled with TWU employees. Those jobs are now outsourced.
I hope you are right but I don’t think so.
