Aircraft maint issues

One of the best perks about not working for American Airlines is I don't work with a bunch of lazy, entitled, greedy people.

Well I can't speak to Al Blackman because I have never met the man but I will say in TULE our most senior people were nothing more than entitled parasites living off of someone else's labor. They had nothing better to do than sit in the crew chiefs office day after day soaking up air conditioning and inventing new ways of wasting 8 hours a day. They did not even do their most basic job functions.

Too many in my Seniority range have become fat and weak honestly.

That being said, I also observed CCs who avoided most of the physical work appearing only when it was time to load the plane. It was a rather stark contrast between PHX Leads who typically set-up equipment, marshaled in planes, grabbed gate valets, hooked-up air and power, assisted in down load, checked water, execute the load plan, close-out the flight, and then push back the plane.

My biggest objection in my observations to the CCs were their overall disengagement from the physical work and the primary "qualification" to becoming a CC was that the person had higher seniority (and difficult to remove regardless of abilities).

those with the biggest problem with this issue are the laa c/cs themselves...who sense that the days of watching tv in an air conditioned ready room are over.

This just keeps getting better and better.

So I see the last AMT thread about to be closed between a non AA employee and a ramper getting personal. Just wonderful. Good thing we have several closed group Facebook pages, Whatsapp group discussions and other group discussion sites.

I am done for a while. I think I proved my point.

Not a waste of time at all.

My wife still works for American Airlines. I use this forum to keep up with contract news.

I am just as anxious to get this settled and done as anyone on this forum.

The entertainment value of calling people out for spewing garbage is just a bonus.

To answer your charges no, I do not still wish I worked there, why would I?

That is a serious question. Why would I?

If you are not happy there (with your 3 decades of seniority) what makes you think I would want to go back?

Let me guess you realized you had nothing left to contribute to your own argument so, rather than admit the fallacy of your stance, you made a juvenile insult.

Well done sir.

I value any contribution made to a conversation but perhaps in this case what you should have contributed was silence.
Ouch you hurt my feelings.

You have to have shame to have hurt feelings. You have neither.

He's got the one thing you'll never have again. A job at American Airlines.

Face the facts Troll. You were nothing more than a speed bump meant to be run over here. Roadkill.

Hate to interrupt y`alls little spat, but we have some AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE issues to talk about. Picked this up from FB earlier today....."The news about building a new hanger (hanger 7) in Tulsa is good news, but I didn't know til today it's in lieu of renovating Hgr 3 & 4. It will dock 4 AC, replacing 6 AC Hgr. 3 &4 will be potentially be used for warehouse space. AA is waiting for the Gov. to agree to a low interest rate and they are ready to rock and role. 18month project"....Anyone have more information on this? If true it is good news for TULE. What, if anything, would this mean for the future of PIT maintenance?

Great news.
We either expand our maintenance by reducing outsourcing or maybe AA wants to consolidate. PHX, PIT, PHL, CLT to one major base.

They are spending an ass ton of money in Tulsa new roofs and all new equipment. First time in my 20 years that I've seen this, so yeah I believe we aren't going anywhere. Sry to some of you tul haters

That means nothing. I have seen a ton of companies spend tons of money only to announce closure a few months later. I am sure other people on this forum have seen that before as well.

Maybe the place needs a facelift so they can get the best price when they sell the joint to the highest bidder.

I've always said that you've got to fix the house before you put it on the market.

If the current TWU scope is adjusted to the usair scope. Tulsa will lose about 1500 jobs.
Tulsa has alienated the line guys for many decades. Even thought many of those Tulsa guys will bump to the line. I predict that we line guys will accept the usair scope if the money and benefits are corrected..

I haven't heard news of a Hangar 7 from anyone of substance, just rumors. They are trying to consolidate our operations by bringing our off base composite center over to the component building and the rumor of H7 was told to me by a person on the consolidation committee.
Douggie probably wants to sell the composite building (one of the few buildings AA owns) and give out some bonuses! A lot going on here in TULE with all the money being spent and cleaning up the place but I don't understand any of it. We shall see.

Am I reading this right Hog? You state that they are building a new hangar (7) in Tulsa. It will be a 4 aircraft hangar (holds up to 4 doors closed?). This will be in lieu of renovating hgrs 3&4. Then you state that the new 4 AC will replace the hgr 3&4 which is (was) 6 AC hgr. To me when I read this it's a reduction of 2 full lines of AC from 4 to 6. If your contract reads "space to accomodate mA/C maint." then they will in fact remove 2 lines of "space" therefore could get away with outsourcing those two lines. So I guess my last question would be how is that good news. Now if they are adding the 4AC hagr to the 6AC hagr's already there, then that would be good news. Again am I missing something here???
