Airbus Arbitration Scheduled

Well, frankly, he has not scared or intimidated me, I just find his posts confusing and disjointed. I can see that he aims at the IAM most of the time. I don't see him calling on the other Unions much. Even if he did take aim at AFA and try to use scare tactics like someone else who posts on here, it would not make one bit of difference in my stance. I have bled all I am going to bleed with this Company. We are becoming an Embarassment.

Don't you mean "he is an embarrasment?"

Well, both perhaps. I don't know him personally, but I come on here to learn and keep myself a little more informed and connected to what is transpiring around the system. Hoping against hope that some miracle will cure us of this plight that management has put upon us. I really don't like being lied to about important matters...Such my job. <_<

dave and his cheerleaders have lied to us since day one!

He went after the CWA big time during Chapter 11 proceedings. Did that involve the infamous editorial in Charlotte? Savy

I have a copy of it if you would like it!

Nobody truly knows management's true motivation but them self. However, the facts are the company has the IAM and its members set up for a very painful fall.

Could the company and the IAM elect to negotiate a cost effective way to keep the overhaul in-house? Sure, but management also has a plan to eliminate most of the mechanics and make the IAM irrelevant, if necessary or they desire.

Again, if the company will truly negotiate, which they did not do with the ACAA, Allegheny County, and Commonwealth officials, then there could be an agreement to cost effectively conduct overhual in-house. If not, the mechanics will likely see all overhaul outsourced if the company wins the grievance arbitration.

Regardless, it's your choice what to do.

Respectfully,

I must break in here to reply! I do not always agree with 320, but on this particular issue he is 100% CORRECT!!!! Anyone correct me if i'm wrong, but the way i am reading THIS PARTICULAR POST is; The company DOES have a plan for Airbus maint IF we lose arbitration. Me personally, I have been saying all along that we(IAM) are NOT in their grand plans. Do I like or agree with this????? HELL NO!!!! But, to me, this seems that this is the direction that the company wants to go. Lower the number of mechs to a bare minimum, line functions/B checks, MAYBE C checks. I really feel for utility/stock clerks, They probably want that ELIMINATED!!! GSE??....Plant Maint??????....GONE!!!!!!! Do i like any of this???? Once again, NO!!!!! But, I feel this is the REALITY of the business. FOLKS,,Please remove head from noted location!!!!!!! GOOD DAY......MORE LATER!!!!!

You mean do to the IAM what they've been doing to ALPA? Perhaps the former union has less of a desire to put the proverbial screws to (or eat) the bottom 2/3rd of it's seniority list than the pilots do.

The ACAA and the IAM share one thing in common: leverage. US needs PIT a whole lot more than PIT needs US. Further, it's not as if US has the money to finance any mainline aircraft to replace the Boeing fleet in any case.

Further, the company is taking a rather large gamble by outsourcing the aircraft: if/when the company loses the Airbus arbitration, it will be on the hook to the IAM for a huge reward and probably all legal fees associated with the battle in question.
