CWA/IBT negotiated a concessionary contract for the LUS airport agents The company needed this contract to complete the merger CWA/IBT had major leverage at the barging table with the Passenger System cutover as well as having some of the best scope in the industry only to be giving away with a letter of agreement with out a vote from membership while still in negotiations moreover CWA/IBT was the only union on the property to be in section 6 direct negotiations under the RLA unlike the rest of the employees groups in joint contract negotiationsCWA represented Piedmont Express and now Envoy getting CWA representation as well with this representation CWA/IBT is allowing the company to whipsaw the union groups work allowing the mainline work to go to express taking away from mainline employees. CWA/IBT Gave up scope by allowing up to 5 mainline jets a day to be outsourced. Allowing a whole different work classification with lower pay to do Passenger Service Work. Allowing all baggage service to be outsourced. Allowing all wheelchairs and unaccompanied minors to be outsourced. Allowing all curbside to be outsourced. Allowing junior part-time employees to get fulltime jobs before senior full -timers. Leaving health care insurance cost at the company discretion. The company saw a hole and took advantage of it with home base reservations and office base reservations and LAA allowing the LUS airport agents contract to be Gutted of scope. The LUS airport agents were served upThe CWA/IBT leadership said this was the absolutely the best they could do.All airport CWA president east of the Mississippi were against this contract and were ignored "so be it"
How sad and depressing that the Yes voters probably saw the money and ignored the rest. Don't know what to say about the 4,500 that never voted.

And I forgot to mention allowing management to do airport Passenger Service Work
I am sure there are more negatives still trying to wrap my head around this agreement

Then explain the PMUS IAM Fleet CBA, which was negotiated AFTER the UA deal.

So if they offered to AMTs and we get 7 weeks of VC. So we get back what we gave up in 2003 in vc but have to give up holiday pay to restore our vc allotment. That's a concession!!
Do the math, at 50/hr (for simplicity) 2 weeks of vc is 4k, conversely, 10 holidays at double is also 4k, however, we currently have 5 holidays at 1.5, using 50/hr, thats worth a net of 1000, so, going to 10 holidays at double is only a gain of 3000, where as keeping the same holidays and adding 2 weeks vc is a gain of 4000.

However, we need language to protect us on the holidays so I get to decide if I want it off or not, to me that is a must have and actually we should have the 7 weeks vc AND x2 or x2.5  on no less than 10 holidays.

10 days at double $50 is 8k.

Interesting.... John John was one of the biggest CWA supporters, and always posting about how management was going to take advantage of the agents if they didn't unionize.

Ironically, the givebacks to the company in this contract appear to exceeded everything AA management did to its agent workforce from 1993 (the start of functional outsourcing) up to 2015 when they didn't have a CBA to worry about. It certainly undoes all of the things that CWA trumpeted as reasons pmAA's unions should have unionized.

This *is* the airline union you asked for.

I was referring to the amount over straight time salary.

Never mind, just forget I did math with you guys.

You better check your sources the LAA agents are dancing in the street over this contract. Your lack of knowledge is showing again

Best Scope in the business, show me better.
CWA/IBT had 2 mainline jets a day and station can be outsourced
The company wanted 7 mainline jets a day and station can be outsourced
CWA/IBT settle for 5 mainline jets a day and station can be outsourced
CWA/IBT leadership kept beating drum that the LAA had to have a contract immediately because they were unprotected
7 mainline jets a day and station can be outsourced
and unprotected continental airlines sound familiar???

Actually 5 mainline flights a day is decent scope, ask the clerks in EWR. Wait you can't they're not there
