I said early on this TA will pass because of the buy out. Now you've found out that it has stipulations dependant on other work groups. And you're surprised your union didn't tell you that. If I'm not mistaken, your union was advising you to vote yes for this TA. A yes vote also insured the union would keep receiving your union dues each month. Point to remember for future use, if there is a future here, if it sounds like a good deal for you and the company and the union says it is, you're probably going to get screwed. There will be thousands of jobs contracted out, reduced to express, furloughs, not to mention the retirees losing what they worked so hard for. The sad thing about all this. Mgmt. will go over the hill with a pile of your money laughing all the way to the bank. This deal is just another notch on the gun stock to them. Now, there will be many that will say that the alternative was everybody would lose if it didn't pass. I guess we'll never know. IMO this dog would never hunt, won't hunt today, and never will. Good luck.hopethingswillbeok said:I will repeat a earlier post I made. I received my TA information the day before the deadline of voting. I called the CWA to obtain my PIN number and while doing so I asked questions about the early out. I was advised by my CWA rep that the early out would not be applicable unless all labor groups voted in a consensual agreement. I quickly asked the rep why the CWA ratifacation paperwork did not out line that information, he had no answer. My point is even our union cannot be clear and precise on what we are voting for. I truly question whether the buyout will materalize. The CWA TA is in effect Jan 1, 2005. I would assume the buyout application period will not be Jan 1, 2005. All everyone wants is clear and consise information, not reading between the lines rhetoric.

Obviously you are in a station that will remain mainline. You call employees that get it fools. I call you challenged/boxed in and unable to find another job. I have read 2 seperate articles (businessweek and RDU paper) about how Gordo at CO thought employee morale was the first priority on arrival at CO. Lakefield says he wishes he had never come to US. Do you see a difference? Or, are you "using your head"?UseYourHead said:US Airways can be a viable business, and many of us want just that. We are not scared, weak, etc., in fact we are strong enough to disregard the fools around here who try day and night to paint a much different picture.
As Continental was able to get through their decade plus of nightmares, we can too! Hang in there, better days can come our way in time. We do not have to follow in the the footsteps of EAL. and this puts us one step closer to avoiding that fate.
Happy Holidays to all!

........What a SAD, self-serving post,,,obviously written by a charter member of ALPA's "wussy wagon".... B)UseYourHead said:I wish that the CWA could have negotiated a better deal earlier on, instead of waiting as long as it did. ALPA, AFA, IAM should have all done the same.
Shame on us for listening to some of the yahoo's that tried to convince us otherwise. There was no bargining power in this scenario.
Congradulations to those CWA folks who had the courage to do want needed to be done at this point.
I feel sorry for the IAM, and what is coming down the pike towards them. This little pocket of discontent here at this chat room is far from reality, far from what the majority feel, and it has been once again proven by vote results.
