I know one of the crewmembers, we also came to the conclusion that the current discussion of descrimination, fear and ignorance are exactly what they wanted. To simply provoke a reaction that they could put some spin on then let the media run with it.

...Or maybe to make crews/passengers more reluctant to react to possibly suspicious behavior in future encounters. Make them "shy" so to speak.

In islam, imams don't have to have qualifications to be leaders . They are very,very,seldom scholars. Many are barely educated past middle school, if that.


It is not expected as it usually is in Christianity and other religions.

An imam is basically one chosen by the others as their leader. No experience required. A sense of superiority is considered helpful, I'd guess.

A lot of this imam stuff is simply made up.

A background check on the average pompous imam can usually raise interesting things.

If you doubt me, find the names of say-30 imams. Your pick. Google their history.

I NEVER thought i would agree with Ann on ANYTHING, but this bleeding heart liberal does here. Now if she would give equal footing to those christians that kill and discriminate against gays in the name of their "lord" and their equally perverse scripture. Down with ALL religions. This definitely was a "test" or a setup of some sort. We could all speculate on their agenda, but suffice to say I don't think the Immams were prepared for the support being shown to the crew for how they handled the incident....

Can we let this one go already? The crew did the right thing. The passengers were singled out for their behavior, NOT their ethnicity. This was a setup of some sort. Let them cry discrimination all they want. Shahin has ties to a KNOWN terrorist organization. What part of that don't you all get?

Why won't mainstream Islam reach out to middle America to educate us?

One would think if they do not support this way of thinking that they would speak out against it. Then you can read the NYT archives on 12Sep01 to find the article on the five Mossad celebrating with cavorting and beer the collapse of the WTC, and, should you still have a brain, wonder why the Israelis would want to celebrate a tragedy just like the very few Muslim people who did.

You may wish to view the english version of Al Jazeera to see how the 1.6 billions of Muslims were horrified.
