2015 Fleet Service Discussion

This week, TWU's American Airlines local presidents are engaged in a rigorous, first-of-its-kind contract negotiations training course. This training, which began on Sunday, spans the entire week and is part of the union's coordinated strategy in preparation for upcoming contract negotiations with the airline.

Right now, the TWU/IAM Association is waiting on the National Mediation Board to issue a decision in response to our request for determination of Single Carrier Status. Before we can officially launch contract negotiations, we need to secure this determination. The NMB is currently reviewing the request — and TWU is actively working with the Board and doing everything in our power to expedite the process.

Any bets or odds on getting the 4% retro back to 1-5-2105 when other work groups and non union folks started receiving theirs.
I'm not surprised Bob through that out there. What else is a five time elected official gonna say. I can promise you, Doug has no intentions of giving retro on that BUT if he did, you can damn well believe it will be from giving something else up!

Doug as well as Lombardo had their chances at first impressions...they both failed miserably!
I'd bet no with confidence , we didn't get it in our agreement signed last fall

No wonder they've been getting their asses handed to them every negotiation cycle.Maybe dopes from the floor get eaten alive by MBA's from Hahvaad and Wharton? Hmmm...

More like a week long bender on the memberships dime.Booze, dinner, sounds like fun!

That's an interesting twist.
How about the iam/twu agreed to this a$$ociation without membership input.
Since they both suck and are dictatorial to their "membership", the membership is pissed as there are many that do not want this a$$ociation.

Unions are 'supposed' to reflect the will of the membership, not the other way around.

And you are the spokesperson for the Membership, I gather.

They want what you say because you said it. Is that the premise?

You just don't get it, do you.

You've been preaching since October to be patience and once the 3 little items are taken care of when go ahead and get ready for negotiations. It is MARCH and we have not started anything. Wake up!

I guess the survey was not another sign this is going to draaaaaaaag.

How does a leading question like #9 grab you?

"If there were a contract fight with a large unionized airline are you comfortable with the International being very aggressive in fighting the company to maintain your wages, benefits and pension, or due to increased competitiveness in the industry, do you think we should be less aggressive so we don't hurt good union airline companies? "

"Yes, be aggressive"
"No, less aggressive"

Gee? I wonder which one most will pick? Then when this drags, it will be either because they're "fighting" or it will be the IAM's fault for the delays in a JCBA....Either way, strap in for a long ride.

All I did was post the news bro. It's not about sharing an opinion or debate over coffee or something?

And the news gets a response. Bro.

Classes? Training? For what? They don't need that for the company to tell them what they are getting. They don't "negotiate", they get told what they're getting. Keep thinking the twu is for real.

It is amazing what propaganda can achieve.

People actually think the TWU is negotiating in their best interest.
