2015 Fleet Service Discussion

On another site I frequent, someone from IND stated they'll take a $2.00/hr. cut, lose their 401k match, and have split shifts. Not sure how accurate that is, or if it applies to the other stations mentioned...
So now we are at the point of different pay and work rules depending on which station you work at,
Lovely.

If that is what it takes to keep them a dues paying member, then the IAM or TWU would push it.

I would have no problem with a difference in pay based on locality for cost of living. That is long overdue in airline union CBA's. But for base pay rates, no way, no how.

All this taking place while the airline is making some of the highest profits in its history.

Exactly.
There should be a base rate for all and then adjustments UP for the high cost cities.

The members at each station effected has the choice to vote it down, then they wm have to bump into another station or be laid off.

I don't agree with it either had to be one of the worst articles in a CBA.

What I don't get is how they could ever bring that out for a vote, yet alone vote yes on it.

So at least now we have glimpse of the IAMs negotiating prowess.

Coming soon to an IAM station in the cool new association at AA, lower pay and different work rules , because they can do that brother.

So what I see is FSC at TOS will go down from $24.60 to $22.60 if they agree to the modifications. Except SJC all the stations mentioned for changes are low COL areas where $22.60 is still a good wage.

BUT the problem I would have is the company's ability to schedule split shift work. If I need to rely on being FT or have straight hours as PT to be able to hold a second job I don't think that agreement could work for me.

Hopefully individuals in those stations who can't agree on the modifications if it passes will have the ability to leave for somewhere else in the system where they can maintain more steady FT employment if they wish?

Too easy to look at the whole picture?

Look at the language of the PMUS fleet service, seven flights a week including AA metal, then the station has to be staffed upon the annual review.

About the best scope in the industry.

Also the PMUS mechanic and related scope is better than what too have at AA.

Good question. Will all lose the ability to bump (exercise seniority) on the system if the station votes yes on these concessions?

Bad, bad precedent. Vote no.

Each station and work group had someone on the negotiating committee for this reduction. And the details are already in the hands of the stations effected.

Keep up the lies.

And dont let the facts get in your way.
If anybody on here is a liar 700UW it is YOU. I have proven that over and over again.

The only liar you have proven is yourself, ask anyone on here, they know all  you care about is being a right winger, complain about people on public assistance, you took the public money for school

From a personal perspective, working and remaining in a small station always frightened me. Always wondering if and when your head might be on the chopping block just isn't a very stable way to live.

If I was FT in one of these stations and I could wind up going down to PT and maybe only being given 4 hours per day split that would be like going down to making the equivalent of $11.30 per hour.

Even in a low COL area I just don't think I could swing that. If I knew I could get out I would vote yes for those who want to stay, otherwise I would have to vote no and bump the system.

It sounds like from what I've heard if the members in those cities who voted no are in the minority on their vote, they will still have the ability to bump the system if they don't want to or can't afford to stay?

There may even be a moving allowance?

This whole thing is ugly.

UA (and I think CO) had a lot of cross-utilized stations going into this merger. Instead of keeping those as is, I'm curious why they made everyone choose one side of the house or the other...
