2015 AMT Discussion

Rumors flying around that IAM cut a deal to give twa guys their full seniority. Good for those guys. Something to ask at next union meeting.
While I don't doubt this is just a rumor, it is something that will have to be dealt with if you guys decide on using straight DOH for a combined list.

The former TW were given date of hire from the Kasher decision, there is no changing it.

Oh I understand the Kasher decision and what binding means. All I'm saying is that if DOH is decided on as the way to go, it's gonna come up...
It might "Come up" in a break room with a few ex TW guys, but it'll never be in any conversation that could change it, it's long been decided.

I hear ya, but my guess is someone throws down the lawsuit card if DOH is decided on. It'd probably get tossed at the first hearing, but still...

My only point was to note that this is something the Association should be prepared for.

There's going to be way bigger fish to fry for the Association.
And as far as being prepared for, let's see how much longer it takes for them to get to the table.
It's not like they have to plan a mission to Mars.
There's already 2 contracts, and the part that takes the longest, the money, is already decided.
My guess is, there's some butt hurt going on in the Ass because they can't take any credit for the raise.
Parker wants to reduce some AMT numbers and probably some fleet as well, or make our fleet look more like Delta, hello ready reserve, and the Association is searching for the right way to couch these changes with the membership.
That's my guess on the delay.

When there is no accountability why update anything? They know they are getting paid so the hell with the peasants that pay you salary.

I suggest you read the seniority agreement for yourself, metal mover posted it (TY) goes by entry into classification, then last four of SSN, using the existing seniority lists of each company.

As the oldest guy in my class, not exactly happy about this, but that's the way of union seniority.

In the meantime......

"So far the plan seems to be working because American Airlines is one of the most profitable airlines in the world."

Guess which airline is number 1?

1. American Airlines Group
$ 4.18 billion estimated profits so far this year.

So my point is AA is in never charted territory as far as profits. This is our biggest and best opportunity to gain from the lost years of sacrifice. Can someone please notify the ASSOCIATION and wake them up to this fact. The dues are flowing and that's all that seems to be their concern. We need a contract now with financial gains as well as improvements in scope. WTF?

Yup. I see you got that as well...

While I believe this rumor to be just that, I would not put it past the Associations "Parents" that is, the TWU International and the IAM's International, ( that in which Thomas Buffenburger resides )
and the AFL-CIO if this group wanted to have the Kasher decision modified or overturned to settle this issue.

After informing a co-worker, he laughed and asked if his previous IAM time at Beech Aircraft would grant him his rightful position on the seniority list.

Could it be that the IAM's racial origins cause it some other problems?

Should all the Eastern guys get their time back as well?
