Did you read the letter Webber wrote complaining he had no cash and the DOJ had to approve the merger? Classic!!
Meanwhile the wife collects 20 million or so...
Then the West Chief Pilots who stole our data are exonerated by an internal investigation. Russ has his wife call Doug and all ends well.

Russ Webber
I am extremely disappointed in the DOJ's attempt to block the merger between Us Airways and American Airlines.

I never thought that my party would do something that would have such drastic negative affects on my family's income.

If this merger is not allowed to be consummated the long term viability of US Airways is in real doubt. That leaves a weak AA unable to effectively compete with the two mega carriers, while the potential for those two carriers to " get along to get along" is very real.

Allowing the merger to occur ensures a robust American Airlines that will be much more able to compete and hence keep prices in check for the consumer, while keeping over 100,000.0 people employed nation wide with well paying jobs.

At a time when the economy is hardly thriving I find it stunning that the DOJ, with your help, would do anything that might impact a single job,let alone thousands.

The mid term elections are coming up and this one issue will be on the minds of the over 100,000.0 union and non union employees alike and will certainly play a part in how we vote.

Please negotiate a fair compromise so my family can breath and the merger can be completed.

Regards
Russ Webber

Meaning no disrespect to Richard Gere's acting (gerbil rumours not included); perhaps some sad issues with any early-life, strong male role models being absent might apply? I mean seriously: "Please negotiate a fair compromise so my family can breath and the merger can be completed."  makes it sound like the poor "man" is directly under enemy fire at that very moment! I've long-wondered if there's not some special schooling for drama queens required by the "army" of leonidas, before dubbing one a "knight", or even a "spartan soldier". ;)

Russ could hardly " breath?"
How much was Elise pulling down? 5 or 10 million?

Well...It's not entirely impossible that merely the apparently all-consuming fear of just a corporate transaction not being consummated could actually throw certain types into virtually apoplectic shock: See listings from "The Book of Eastwood" = "A man's gotta' know his limitations."

P.S. Seriously though:  It's very safe to say, at least from any clinical perspective, that some truly "interesting"...umm..."leadership" is present in the west. Take for example their entirely self-styled "supreme commander" of a Fantasyland-only "army" of supposed "spartans" just for starters...not to even mention "dire wolves", "knights",  "wizards" and nowadays, apparently even "surviving veterans"  who "fought" in "war"/etc....I have a difficult time even laughing at them lately, rather than just hoping that they'll eventually seek out some much-needed, professional help.

Cocktail party eavesdroppings. (pun intended)

"Neil Roghair, this is my husband russ a 757 pilot. Working for america west airlines he was paid the same as an airbus pilot, but he has some useful advice for you because.............."

Wow, all good seniority numbers to hold wide body slots and some pretty nice schedules, all the wasted money for nothing, this group of morons has helped screw the entire west group and hold them hostage. Enjoy PHX.

Don't matter how many times you beg, the West ain't giving you DOH.

Neither is APA or the arbitration panel.

And no matter how much you ever fantasize or beg; as a person who's best, if totally twisted notions of "Honor" come only from a Bruce Willis movie, "LT Hardy"...You'll likely live out your whole, sorry life as nothing more ever actually demonstrated than as just a back-stabbling little snipe against your fellows. One almost feels sorry for you. "Here lies traderjake. His finest "Honor" was forever demonstrated in seeking to have 3 month new hires placed above his fellows with even 16-17 years continual service." Call me crazy here, but I'm guessing that no Missing Man formation, nor fired Salute will be given in respect to your particularly perverted notions of "Honor"....but you can always ask the "spartans" to hold some service for you, I suppose, perhaps even ask "cap'n aux" to preside...well, if that poor child's demonstrated stupidity hasn't ended him by then, of course.

You have to HAVE it to GIVE IT.  Besides, USAPA isnt going to ask for DOH.  The BPR meeting took the cuffs off the C&B the other day and now the merger committee can provide evidence that the East pilots deserve BETTER than DOH over the APA.

So youre probably right...no more DOH.

Fine by me let stay on little airplanes stagnant the rest of their careers locked in PHX, glad you know what the APA and arbitration is going to give us. Is that knowledge from your lovers " sources".

This is going to arbitration and there will be a West MC.

Your fear of a fair and enforcable arbitration is noted.

You fear of DOH is noted.

Agreed, they were bankrupt, there is very good chance the AA boys could get screwed with MB. Wilson is gambling with the careers of his pilots, my friends are telling him it would be better to get an agreement with us outside MB.

I'm not out to screw anybody... That being said, I think much of the risk lies with the APA and what the West is doing amounts to a Hail Mary pass with no receivers downfield.
