Sorry for shifting gears off the topic but is there any truth that AA is looking to cut 150 line AMT's at DFW ??

I heard 200 mechs, has anyone at DFW gotten WARN notice yet?

What is driving this layoff if this bears any truth?

Until the WARN notices are given then there is no layoff.  Think of the publicity Parker will get.  4% raises for everyone and a layoff for AMTs.  Doesn't make sense even for the new America West.

WARN fact sheets says notices go out if 49 to 500 workers are affected but must exceed 33% of the entire workforce. 33% is 255 based on the current station seniority list for DFW.

Haven't heard about RIFs though. Has anyone heard about a RIF from 591?

Hmm, company says they cant give anyone off on the Holidays because of workload, double digit OT and they are going to lay off 200 mechanics? Doubtful, you never know but thats the nature of the business we chose. If you are going to let those concerns rule your life then you need to go into a different industry.

I'm assuming sense bob hasn't heard about a dfw layoff, it's hopefully just a rumor. A 4% raise for "everybody" a $82m upgrade to FA's pay, and a layoff for AMT's, I think that is a bit too much of a kick to the plumbs.

You see now Metal, this is your thread. This is not ambiguous. The only advice I would give is that since it was started so late in the year it should have said 2015 Maintenance talks unless you're doing an end of the year look back.

Company suck doing Parkers bidding, whats the matter Segal doesn't let you shine his shoes anymore? Lock us in at Bankruptcy rates of pay and no Profit Sharing but then he claims he is a Union Man. Maybe if the IAM had negotiated something close to WN or UPS we wouldn't want profit sharing, but then again doesnt WN get profit sharing as well? But what does the IAM get with a company earning Billions, AA bankruptcy wages.

AA will willingly give you WN's rates as long as you take their whole CBA and not cherry pick.
 
WN has about the same amount of planes as AA and no where near the amount of mechanics.
 
So you if you arent in the top 3,000 say goodbye.

I don't recall AA EVER offering us WN or DL wages for that matter. NEVER EVER was that even hinted at by LAA...

Now that they seem to heading in that direction, some "leaders" are advocating UPS rates which would mean a 40% jump. That's the type of rhetoric that creates a long drawn out negotiations and that has to be concern.
