My concerns have dealt with the negotiations and lack of preparedness and the deafening lack of information. Should I stay quiet to make YOU feel better?
Paint it however you like since I agree with you that my beloved Union needs to do a little more then I've heard so far they're doing publicly in the areas you are concerned about. If you think that doesn't concern me you're wrong.

I'm just not going to jab them in the throat, poke out their eye and knee them in the grain the way "I" think you have been doing lately. JMO if you can accept that?

i thought the local presidents met and the twu already formulated their negotiations team? lets hope the silence means that the TWU is moving forward with preparedness meetings and discussions.

Either you're "for" something, or you're "against," the middle ground serves no purpose.

Negotiations prep time is passing us by day by day and we can't get that back. There is not do over so I'd be remiss if I felt something and didn't voice it.

The lack of communication is also hurting since it is a petri dish where rumors grow and makes the sharing of information more difficult.

Those issues hurt the Membership and should be more prevalent, we can't keep silent on that.

You can. I won't.

I would agree with NYer that we should have been in negotiations prep meetings already. IMO we should have already had a joint survey out to all the members. And then it takes time to study all these surveys. All this work could have been going on already. The lack of Info coming out, at least from the IAM side is because we don't really have anything to report. We have met two times, in hopes of the TWU joining us and they refused due to some issues. Now the IP,s were suppose to have met, and I have heard nothing about this meeting. So should and could we have already met? Yes. However we still have time to accomplish everything we need for a JCBA. Let's hope the ball gets rolling soon after the Holidays.

Fair enough but your comments also allude to a future that neither you or I can know will be the outcome? You say with absolute certainty that it's the TWU (Your Union) that is going to bog down the process and speculate even by YEARS.

That's the area where you and I are currently at odds about. Neither of us have a crystal ball and the picture you paint only uses black on the canvas. I think there are far more colors being used right now then you know?

Thanks CB. Now to me this is the way to approach the subject. Personally I believe yes they should have went to the Wippinger center to have met you guys and maybe learned something, but I do understand why (At that moment) they decided not to.

I also feel that right after the holidays they need to get the ball rolling for some of you to get to know each other (NMB decision not withstanding) I'm also hoping that behind the scenes some of you guys are getting to know each other? (Phone numbers are on the web) It's not that difficult for anyone to reach out and say "How you doing I'm"

IMO at least it really is that simple.

Happy Holidays Brother.

I know they had had their reasons they decided not to show. My personal opinion, I think they could have done what's best for the membership and still showed. I think they could have even discussed their issues there, since some of the involved parties would be there. But it's water under the bridge now and we need to move fwd.

Merry Christmas & Happy New year to you too

If they did, we don't know about it.

When have you experienced silence to mean forward movement?

And you said we would "probably" get our issues resolved before the November negotiations prep meetings. We have not.

If there are more colors then enlighten us. What is exactly happening because my experience in telling me one thing, but if you have direct knowledge of what is happening...please share.

Nothing is more important that collective bargaining, especially arguing over a signed agreement.

Actually for a change I don't know exactly what's happening. Personally after the fiasco that occurred because of those letters coming out that I think only exacerbated the issues I'm happy not to know.

Hopefully our President's will be informed and the information will come out officially before the FB crowd gets a hold of it? As it should be I think people right now are more concerned with the Holidays and tidings of good cheer with their families and loved ones.

Too bad some of those people will be without jobs or commuting because there seems to be no urgency to get the issues resolved that affect so many families. Patience is easy when you have a job, at your home station and little to no financial obligations.

On that comment I agree 100%. It's too bad that the Association didn't file 9 months earlier than they did or else it may have been us who were toasting to a JCBA rather than the FA's. Or at the very least maybe at the same time? C'est La Vie on that one I guess.

I'm sure that we also all find it frustrating to be waiting for that decision from the NMB since we can't even begin negotiating with the company until they make their determination.

Rush rush rush, spoken like a true used car salesman. Cut a deal in a hurry so its a bad one. (cut a deal before they post $5billion in profits, before expectations rise!)

Agreed. Nothing of value comes quick.

I get that getting people back to where they want to be is quite high on the list; making sure they actually get to stay there should be too...
