Watch closely now folks.  The same usual peanut gallery will come on here defending the IAM.  These posters have key vested interests in their union positions and will stop at nothing to keep their $100k salaries rolling in.
Your particular angle is looking backwards and serves little purpose since the horse has been beaten to death, eaten by vultures and the bones are bleached.

Moving forward.

Section 6 means nothing to the current IAM leadership as proven by the current contract worth a bag of potato chips. 5 years of "talks" just for fun and formalities. The company greased the right IAM palms and both got what it wanted. "Lock and Load" my ass, just another ploy to keep moral from being subdued. It's all just a ruse nowadays.
"They can do that brother"

"We'll get 'em next time"

"Live to fight another day"

Again the fact that so many on here say you got a good agreement shows they have been conditioned by the IAM to lower their expectations. Collective bargaining is about improving and enhancing your position not moving backwards or simply maintaining what you already have. AAG made $1.9 billion in the first half of 2014 alone, and standalone USAIR made record profits throughout 2012-13 without the merger, it's time for you guys to get a fair share. The IAM is content keeping things the way they are so long as dues keep coming in and the appointed leaders stay in their cushy positions-that is what the alliance is all about. In fact one of the Q&As went as far to say the alliance maintains the structure of both unions and all leadership positions.

You silly little pot stirrer you. Ignoring the economic realities of negotiating based on the moment as a standalone airline who's RASM's were far too low to accommodate the wanted workforce pay and benefit increases. As well as ignoring the upcoming reality of a possible much larger second bite at the apple because the basket is now much fuller.

Hang the Troll. Off with his head.

black magic, let me ask you this..  what is more important  the scope or having nothing?  your posts  to me suggest you want to be without a union?  the current deal we got is a helluva lot better than what UA and HA both got  Id say yes the IAM learned what not to do and what to do.  Do you think we would of gotten this deal if we never merged w AA????   NOPE

Two lost elections, and many failed attempts to persuade the Membership, has taken a toll...

Attack...attack... attack... attempt after attempt to divide and conquer...

It has NEVER worked, and it will NOT work now, the Membership is savvy to this deceptive garbage... and has moved on!

Burn yourself out in your last vestige of abhorrence, you isolated megalomaniac!

Let's see Roa doesn't work for USAIR any longer and isn't covered under the new agreement. But hey you guys are okay being stuck at the bottom of the industry and are just happy you maintained the scope you have (rather than securing more work and enhancing existing language). I'm sure glad I enjoy a standard of living far above and beyond anything the IAM will ever be able to provide you guys as don't have the IAM imposed on me.

Lets see. UAL and DAL came out of BK how long ago? US for all intent and purpose up until the merger was a low cost carrier, (ticker symbol LCC) and before the BK we on the ramp at AA were the best compensated with pay and benefits of all the majors out there ( excluding SWA since they've only taken a loss in one quarter in their entire history) So our process hasn't reached stage 2 yet that the others already completed after their BK's.

My bet is giving it a max of 1 year we will have a JCBA that will leapfrog over those other carriers and be sitting at the top of the heap looking down.

Care to place that wager Josh?

Imposed on you?

Come clean.

I don't have the IAM imposed on me. I guess the "I" was omitted by mistake. I am not an IAM member or objector thankfully. I have however visited IAM locals and grand lodge and interacted with IAM personnel over the years.
