Like I said I doubt the JCBA will give away catering. PHL CLT DCA all the hubs plus a few outlining cities such as BWI will continue seeing catering.

That is incorrect sir. Who told you that?robbedagain said:Tim from what we all (at least in my station) is that in Nov when we move to the C pier the US furlough will have first dibs then AA furlough then transfers and then hiring off the streets. AA folks who accept it will keep the seniority for pay but in doing shift bids vacation bids they'll be behind us. That is how we have been told anyhow....
the members have voted to sell out stations every chance they have had the opportunity. In these JCBA talks, I suspect the union will agree to a ground floor with binding arbitration since that seems to be the direct path that Parker has laid down to the unions for consideration. The idea with that is that the unions will get more for a quick contract and binding arbitration. That being said, this isn't a environment to toss away catering or any more stations. I suspect a grandfathering of stations will continue, and lav will stay in certain airports, and catering/cargo in others. If Catering or anything else don't make the cut, then it would prolly be a time bomb thing. When our group votes, and bombs are back ended instead of front loaded, the membership agrees to the immediate bull crap of 'yes we realize there are time bombs but we will be back in negotiations prior to make sure they don't pass.'737823 said:Robbed but again how is it fair to the membership to sell out the small stations to protect a privileged few?
Josh
Again, who told you that?robbedagain said:Tim, we were told that repeatedly back just prior to voting on the current TA Recall folks will have the first dibs but the way I have heard is that US folks on recall will have the first shot then AA folks then transfers and then hiring off the streets... Josh most of the smaller cities are not going to have catering now as they most likely did not have it before my guess would be in the JCBA grandfathering in all we have now But you also need to remember this Josh now that AA metal is included in the US metal count the current contract states they cannot outsource unless its below the 1 ML a day 7 a week threshold so the small stations are protected at least for the next few yrs. BWI is a small city just as JAX and PBI but as far as catering goes Josh I think its to stay for the long term
Tim I don't think it will be a quick and easy thing getting a JCBA but it remains to be seen who will be running the team only time will tell
so handlow told you aa hirings go ahead of usairways transfers? I think u misunderstood as i doubt nick or any agc told u that. Stop spreading misinformation. Better yet, how about u inform yourself by reading the preferred hiring. And stop calling it a recall for aa. Its not an agreement to recall aa but to hire them over a new hire.robbedagain said:our union reps had said that when they made a station visit recently. i do know in our sta we dont have any recalls as of now.
So clarify...was Robbed or Tim right?JFK Fleet Service said:
not about who is right. Read the agreement. Folks this isnt that difficult. Btw they already have accepted hundreds of transfers/upgrades as of today. When they are done, they will hire any aa that qualifies and wants to work under the terms. The preferred agreement is a benefit that should give aa laid off an opportunity they didnt otherwise have.AANOTOK said:So clarify...was Robbed or Tim right?
yes you are correct system transfers take priority over preferential hiringJFK Fleet Service said:I would expect system transfers rightfully take priority over preferential hiring positions.
Once system transfer list is exhausted, then you can go the preferential/street hire route.
