Well its been how long since we ratified the old agreement ?

It's gone silent on here and I would think with a future joint contract ahead of us we would at least be discussing it ...

You have no idea of how foolish you appear on here.

9 days is forever now according to Freedumb. A product of our McDonalds and Burger King society. Unfortunately, he is indicative of what is wrong with people in this country.

re read the contract    just bec they start soon does not mean that we will get one soon   these circus clowns running the airline have a bad track record when it comes to negogiating contracts

freedom,
The newly ratified contract states the parties must be prepared to enter into joint talks within 30 days of signing. Prior to this happening; the NMB must either recognize the newly formed "Association" as the legal Bargaining Representative of the combined group or call for a representation election. Once the "Association" is recognized or voted in by the membership a joint Negotiating Committee must be established. This committee must meet and discuss the priority issues going into negotiations. Additionally, this discussion will be based on presumed survey results from the members of the combined group. The sick time compensation improvements and probationary employee improvements were agreed to on the date of signing. Both await the company's ability to program the improvements into work brain. So much for firm deadlines. There is much that has to take place before the parties sit down across the table. All in good time. Now let's begin discussion on what needs to be gained, for all members, before we enter into JCB negotiations. Patience is a virtue freedom and good things come to those who exercise it.

The Association has to be voted on, if they file as the representative body......it's not optional

Do you ever educate yourself on things before you post?

They havent even started negotiations.

If you read your new CBA and information you would know they are going to start negotiations within 30 days You truly are a piece of work.

We won't even get to vote for the Association within 30 days....there a couple of steps before they get to negotiate.....I don't even think the TWU has appointed or chosen a negotiating committee.....We're a few months away from negotiations....

Cargo, You would have and still would make a great AGC.
Agreed!

Cargo is a man of HONOR... not one time during his campaign did he resort negative comments or name calling. He is extremely knowledgeable, with decades of active involvement as a Trade Unionist...

Most importantly... he has the patience to deal with freedom... hell, that's worth six figures a year in itself!

So any word on when we are going to start seeing some progress on getting a combined contract?
Four to five years at least. Company got the best of this workgroup once again and is more than happy to show up to negotiations for pure formalities of "talks" when in reality they have no plans on giving any raises higher than the 2% listed for 2016,17. Company could care less if the ramp has a joint contract, hell the pilots had seperate contracts for 7 years.

Cross unitization between work groups is one on the big synergies the company wants to accomplish
