When I worked at Philip Morris we got four bonuses a year, they were in a separate check and they were all taxed at 40% rate.

25%

Not saying that USA can't tax what they want but i would hope its at the percentage
Phillip Morris may have just taken the easy way out. either way you may get the difference back when you file taxes...

FYI..... the video doesn't work !

I must say that not having the new pay rates in WB is an issue for many. I have heard nothing but doubt about the new rates not being up to date. While I understand that they were effective yesterday, many are clueless. As for the bonus, I haven't heard anything concrete on a date, just within 30 days.

spoke with a tax preparer. Won't make too much difference either way. Close to a 40% rate. You gotta love Uncle Sam!

While I just read Mike33,s post. I was told it would be in one of our regular checks within 30 days of ratification. Not sure which one yet.

For those read here frequently, we ALL realize that Tim left with no credibility. That’s not our fault... it’s HIS fault for using asinine techniques like pseudonyms, personal attacks, and a general portrayal of ALL current leaders as being corrupt. The final straw was when he accused any of us that did not agree with him as being morons, Kool-aid drinkers, and liars! We were actually labeled as EVIL by this man, just for wanting to vote for the incumbents! He treated very intelligent, well read, and articulate members with condescension, and disdain. Further, his perpetual attempts at bending the truth were an insult to our intelligence...

So... yes, Tim left with no credibility, don’t feel sorry for him... he had already lost all credibility many years ago... I say... GOOD RIDDANCE!
ROA,
You know, as well as I, he will be back. He's now shifting his attention to the next divisive issue on his agenda. A DOL protest of the recent DL 141 Officer Election results. Hoping to get a rerun that will include all positions up for election in 2016. He will either run as an opposition candidate (again) or endorse a slate of opposition candidates. Talk about a kiss of death. As I suggested to him earlier... maybe he should endorse the candidates he does not want to see elected. He has no credibility or "juice" going forward. Unfortunately, he will never see it. He'll be back alright and we'll be waiting for him.

Option 1. The employer may withhold a flat 25% for federal income taxes from the bonus payment. If the employee receives over $1 million in bonus payments in one year, the employer can withhold 35% from the amount over $1 million in addition to 25% of the first $1 million.

Option 2. The employer may add the bonus payment to the most recent regular income payment, determine the standard withholding based on tax tables and the sum of the two payments, subtract the amount already withheld from the most recent regular income payment, and withhold the rest from the bonus.
The third option is for employers who choose to combine bonus compensation with regular compensation in one payment, check or direct deposit, without any differentiation between the two types of income.

Option 3. The employer may base withholding on the sum of the bonus and regular pay using the standard withholding tables.

The easy way for the company is to just add it into your check. You are just a number and numbers we will always be.

Tim isnt gone, he is still watching the board.

I wonder if those he called criminals, and committing fraud might have had a little communication with him.

He will be back, just under what nom de plume.

That was a issue they told us they might have. They weren't sure they could get work brain adjusted right from day 1 that soon. There are also several new issues with overtime in this t/a they will have to adjust to. Some of these things will take a little time, but we will get pay from yesterday when it went I to effect. Even if the worst case happened and they didn't get it in this check, then the next one would have to be retro back to the 21st.
so what you're saying is we are not going to know till next weds if the money will be on this check or not??  I can tell you that wont be very received at all!

With any new agreement their will be issues to work out on putting everything in place. What I'm telling you is that we get our new pay from the 21st. The company was pretty sure it would be on the next pay check. But either way, we will get it. I can't help how it's received. The union could have given them 30 days to put everything into effect. But we didn't want to do that. Not saying there will be an issue. Just saying, they did mention it was going to be hard to get workbrain switched so quickly. Doesn't mean they can't or won't. Like I said. Either way we will get paid from the 21st. Even if it has to be retroed back to the 21st. That's better than waiting 30 days for it to go Into effect wouldn't you agree??

As mention earlier on another conversation. They can sure cut our pay with payroll overnite but can't get it done the same way when they owe us !!

I agree with you Mike!! I personally think they will get it in before the end of the pay period. Im just trying to be upfront on here and let people know. Like I told Rat, we could have given them 30 days to put everything in place, but that was just taking money out of our members pockets. So I would rather have it this way, even if we have to be retroed back to the 21st. But I don't think we will have to be.

yes it's better than 30 days but if they retro it on the following check how many of us will get taxed more due to a higher tax bracket?
