1st Q Numbers look great!

I can read remarks and articles about a Union Organizer at Delta Airlines getting fired.  So should hog a site and assail Delta Airlines for firing that employee.  I could, but since I don't work for Delta and it DOES NOT CONCERN me and I don't want to stir the pot, I'll keep my opinions to myself.  I like that analogy of folks getting off work, going down to the local bar and talking shop.  In fact, I've been invited to many of those conversations.  In this day and age the bar is the Chat boards of Airliners.net and AirlineForums.com are the bar and all I will say is that I haven't been kicked out of the bar and I assume the vast majority of others haven't either.  It's a sad person that kicks out.

The point still remains that if you think that WN labor groups are going to be willing to settle solely for non-economic issues, you are mistaken.

Feel free to show me you are wrong.

All the rest of your post is superfluous and a diversion from the economic reality of WN's labor negotiations.

No worries paris, he has no clue what is going on over here at SWA with the nego's.  Little does he know that all our groups will receive raises, as he has been saying that SWA will no longer give them. He is so wrong he does not have a clue what he is talking about.  Some groups will get lower raises than other groups just as it always happens.  He is also always asking what is going on over here at SWA, as he has no clue.  He is a one man machine pumping Delta sunshine up all the NON-union brothers and sisters at Delta.  Let him keep preaching as the 2004 will come around again.  SWA has already proven they are willing to give continued industry leading contracts and continue raises for all the employees going forward...

never did I say that WN wouldn't give raises any more.

I have said WN can't continue to pay rates that are far in excess of what other carriers are paying.

slowing the rate of increases at WN while other carriers are giving far larger raises helps to narrow the gap.

You don't even have to include DL.

Can you compare the rates of increase for WN employees vs. other employee groups that have received raises at other carriers?

Below is a comparo from Oct to Nov numbers.  The numbers sort of speak for themselves and are reflective of increasing due to the Nov month is double the Oct month without the W/A, and I think these numbers reflect this.  More flights will be added in Nov as well as in Jan we start the California runs that everyone is talking about on Jan 7th 2015...

Southwest’s November traffic, capacity growth higher than October

Back to the numbers, as we wait for the final Q results, as long as we post a 54 million profit for the 4Q it will put us over the 1 Billion mark for the year.  Pretty sure we will surpass it and then some and look forward to the numbers in Jan being reported...

Another tribute to the contributions AT has givin to SWA.  Still hoping for a themed aircraft painting to salute AT...

AirTran makes final flight, ending 21-year run

Hi swamt, I too would like to see SW paint an aircraft in an AT theme
in tribute to AirTran and it's people for the many great contributions they've
helped make towards the future success of SW. I always enjoyed seeing
the "Big A" on the runway.  :)

I hope swa does paint an AT theme plane    didn't they also buy another airline yrs ago?    if so  I think it would be nice to see that theme too

as for the numbers  I hope you all at swa surpass the 1 billion mark too     keep up the terrific job!!

robbed,

SWA bought Morris Air back in the 90's.   Morris had evolved from a Travel Agency/Charter into a scheduled airline.  With the purchase came David Needleman who was president of Morris.  He came in with some ideas that were not taken in Dallas and he left and 5 years later he launched JetBlue.  Morris did have a pretty sophisticated Ticketless system which, from what I recall was the real prize WN was after.  That and a fleet of 737's and service to bunch of cities in the Northwest.

After the merger, Southwest named an aircraft in honor of June Morris, and I believe that is still flying.

Yes, that aircraft dedicated to June Morris is still flying.  Needleman came to SWA with some major ideas and most were not taken well at all at SWA.  He was later asked to leave SWA and an agreement of him not to compete was written up and in tact for 5 years after his employment with SWA.  Hence the start of JetBlue 5 years after he left SWA.  SWA knew what he was after, they thought or knew he was gathering info to start another airline.  But, since leaving SWA he has started and ran 2 other airlines with the exact same frame of work, JB and Azule.  No telling what else he might do.

he a real smart man.

swamt or wn  yesterday I noticed a SWA 737 with ETOPS written on the nose gear door   Is that a 800 series and if so is that the only model SWA uses for Caribbean flights?   Sorry I don't remember the tail nbr  but it left sometime in the 3p-4p hr   I know this bec I was working an AA MD80 aircraft and SWA is right across the alley way  :)
