1st Q Numbers look great!

I've used a variety of windows based devices, all without problems.

profits will probably be out in the next 10 days for all carriers.

it will likely be good - minus hedging losses for all but AA.

paris, I too have not had any probs as of late.  And for some reason I keep getting negative votes for very positive news for us and SWA as a whole, Hmmmm, wonder why that is and who that just might be.  The only reason I keep posting positive news here is not to start any more threads that really talk about the same things.  I understand the title is 1st Q, but, that has been turning into many, many more Q's as we go.  According to GK we had a tremendous 4th Q so can't wait for the numbers which will be out next Thursday. He has also stated that we will have a better 2015 total YOY,  YEA...

you would have to take up your problem with negative votes up with the board.. .it is likely not a malfunction of the board.

It also doesn't come from me.

Yes, all carriers are going to do well in 2015 and evne with the hedge losses have done well in 2014.

so, why doesn't he sign new labor agreements, including with those poor rampers?

and why can't WN bring back more of its maintenance work in-house? far higher percentages of WN maintenance work go out the door than for any of the big 3.

how in hades did you every come to a conclusion like that?

just fyi.... DL employees have received far more pay raises since WN FA's received their last pay raise in their contract.

WN employees "industry leading pay" is being eroded every time a new pay raise is passed out at the other 3 biggies.

paris   there is no way in the living daylights he is anything pro union   he is strictly pro dl and throws all kinds of bs bout dl being the best in the business and no other airline matches them period...

robbed, I agree with everything you stated plus agree with the 99.999999% of the posters that know that he's the laughing stock of these boards.  He's been kicked off other boards for boorish behavior and I'm still trying to figure out why he's still here.

I find it questionable that as this Pro Delta, management doesn't do anything wrong bozo  has chimed in several times on the WN for not signing new labor agreements, like he has something to gain when they sign a new contract.  It gives him a stick to stir the pot,

Great news out of HDQ regarding profits.   I know I'm going to open up a holy war with the DL cheerleader, but, Gary Kelly told Crammer that SWA will save about half a Billion in fuel costs in the first quarter and that WN is estimating fuel will be around 1.90 per gallon.  On the DL transcript the other day, DL said that DL fuel will be 2.45-2.50 range. ouch.  Since AA doesn't hedge, can't wait to see what the moonthumbs rant will be.

I would like to take this time to thank all the AT employees for operating a very profitable and great company that SWA was able to aquire, keep all the employees, and continue to expand and grow into what we have today.  Because of the AT and SWA merger, we are enjoying record numbers, record profits and record new international flights.  Thank you, thank you and thank you.  Welcome aboard to all of you, and we all look forward to a very rewarding future to continue these record numbers and profits.  Once we finally get rid of these money losing 717's and dump them onto Delta, we will see yet again, even higher numbers for 2015.  Bless you all as we now move forward to keep 2 great companies looking better and better in the future.  Now please SWA, can we finally get the contracts done?  500 million in 2014 just from the AT purchase.  WOW! That's fantastic.  Again thanks to you all at AirTran...

you just couldn't leave well enough alone, could you?

Given that DL is using those 717s to enter key markets in the west where WN has been strong - you do realize that LAX-LAS was one of WN's first routes in the western US? - perhaps WN should have just paid to park them.

instead they paid DL $100M to reconfigure the aircraft to DL specs.

and while you pat the former FL employees on the back, remember that a lot of them lost relative seniority and their positions - including a whole lot of FL captains.

so, yeah, they did a lot to make WN a successful airline.

And WN is doing well.

just don't forget who you had to step on to get where you (collectively) are.

The story I heard is that when WN was looking at purchasing AT, they talked to Boeing about the 717's and after learning the spec's, they told Boeing they didn't want them in the fleet.  Boeing hunted for a buyer and it just happened to be Delta.  Now WN has been an extremely loyal and has purchased how many 737's?  So before someone starts throwing around 100Million dollar figure's, if that's to be believed to begin with. Boeing threw some money in the kitty to help the sale.

Putting them on the west coast may be helpful to Delta but WN does have a steady stream of flights from LAX, BUR, SNA, ONT into LAS.  Add in substantially lower fuel costs, remember that WN will be paying roughly 1.90 a gallon in Q1 and  DL will be paying 2.45-2.50 will help WN defend their turf.

I'm sure that some of those AirTran pilots are crying when they cash their checks.
