I recently interviewed for and was offered a position at IND. Smartly I turned it down after spending a few hours at our new terminal with current FL employees. I couldn't believe their demeanor, their language, and their tone towards others The cross utilization I could have dealt with, but the other employee's and their attitudes turned me off. I was just curious if other FL stations were as ghetto in behavoir and speak or if it's just limited to IND.

Well, the FL people come to our breakroom all the time to use the food machines (their breakroom is a little two person table stuck back in their storeroom) and I'd venture a guess to say it isnt just IND. They are so funny to listen to. Everyone hates everyone, one is sleeping with the manager, didnt have a drivers license yet nothing happens, while two others got into a shouting fight at the counter about sleeping with the other ones boyfriend and doing coke. Yikes. They are an interesting bunch to say the least.

It's just IND. We won't hire anyone for the ramp in "the ATL" who doesn't have a PhD. If your upbringing, background, biases/preferences require someplace a little "whiter", try MLI or BMI. Seriously though, I'm not too sure you'd fit in at any station with your, "Oh my gosh, I can't believe their language!!!", routine. Nor would I want to be delayed for late bags due to your infatuation with someone's skin color. You made the right decision.

What a diplomatic response. *golf clap* I like you.

Bradley.... I have been reading and sitting back... and felt like... "Why Respond to the Negs? After some time, though, why not? I can be Negative too, but choose otherwise. In my Travels, I have found decent, and not so decent, comments made about every Carrier I can think of. I have been to IND, found out someone who worked there I had graduated with, from HS, 40 years ago. He was not Ghetto, nor was anyone I met during my visit. Now I am sure, if in the proper, 'Let's Rag on Everyone', Studio, we can all have a laugh. Sure, there are people that don't come from your Blueblood up-bringing. I think you'll find that, most anywhere you go, you will find Negatives, and they are not only at one Airline. As CJ said, try BMI & MLI..... That's 'Cornfield'... God Bless them! Great Folks!!!! I hope you find employment somewhere that you will find Peace & Tranquility!. Perhaps @ USAirways ;-))
If you want the true Ghetto Experience, live in one and report back! Try ATL, DTW, PHL. Int'l Shannon, I hope you continue your usual. You Rock!

Not sure if i'm following you. On one hand, you criticize the poster for unfair stereotypes, then you go off and degrade ATL, DTW and PHL???

... and I'm not sure I'm following you either. I don't feel I criticized the poster for 'Stereotyping'. Just simply said, I did not witness the kind on environment that he mentioned. As far as ATL, DTW & PHL, please tell me the atmosphere does not exist in some areas. I only stated a fact, not degraded. In fairness, I suppose I should have included every City that has one but my UP Load Bandwidth is limited to 120 KBps and I have to go to work Tuesday. MODs, Can we close this before it becomes something it should not? Have a Great Day Delta 777!!! :)

There is quite a difference between talk and "talk". If I am refferred to as "whitey" and "white boy" when around these people, then I am out of line to question whether or not all stations are like that? I work for an airline and I know how people talk and act, however the words and actions by, what we now call GhettoTran, were reprehensible. It was enough that I made complaints to the management that were ignored and made complaints to HR in Atlanta. What would these people have done had I called them the "N" word or other derogitory names. My post was not negative at all, I simply asked a question to find out if all the employee's they hire to work front line and ramp were like that or if it was limited to one particular station.

"GhettoTran" ???? What a snappy name. Maybe we can replace the 'a's with g's! Yep, F9 is the perfect airline to work for. Curious why you thought of leaving and going to work for GhettoTran!

You imply that you were offended by being called names; so offended that you complained to mgmt. and HR. So if I'm interviewing you for a job, if I'm trying to find out if you'll be a hard worker, one who'll go that extra mile to make a customer happy and help make this company better, my lasting impressions of you are (because you complained during the interview process) that you can't stand to be called names and are offended by "ghetto" language. Your resume is going in the trash. We're in business to transport people and bags from A to B; not to make Bradly happy. If Bradly can work 2 gates at one time, offload 120 bags, upload 120 bags, and turn 2 planes, all in 45 minutes, I'll hire Bradly. If not, Bradly needs to learn to work with others, part of which is accepting that some people don't look like you, talk like you, or behave like you. They might even call you names, but so what???

Remeber, what you call GhettoTran was the company you were hoping would hire you. What does that say about you?

p.s. If you had called them the "N" word, they'd have killed you.

There's no disputing that Airtran caters to a much lower class clientel. Which has hurt them in these trying economic times, as they are the first ones to tighten their belts and clamp down on discretionary spending. And while there's certainly nothing wrong going after Wal-Mart crowd, don't #### and moan when uncle Cletus and aunt Queeofus stop flying.

No disputing? Why, because you say so? Put another way: "There's no disputing delta777's opinion". Riiiiiiiiight.

We "cater" to anyone willing to spend their money traveling by air. In your fantasy world, Uncle Theodore and Aunt Penelope's dollar bill is worth more than Uncle Cletus and Aunt Queeofus' dollar bill. Tis a shame and another example of you attempting to make yourself feel better by incorrect means.

If you look at AirTran's revenue passenger numbers, we keep setting records for more pax carried: 1stQ 08 - up 12.6%; 2ndQ 08 - up 3.3%; 3rdQ 08 - up 2.6%. If the "lower class" isn't flying as much, where are these additional pax coming from? Wrong again, 777.
