THE LINE DOES NOT GET THE 6% lump sum.

Then I predict it won't pass. Let's see, zero votes in favor from line mechanics and maybe half of the base mechanics approve. Fail.

I can understand the reasons for the 6% lump sum, but to not offer it to the line? That's lunacy on the part of the negotiators on both sides, AA and the TWU. Do any of the TWU negotiators ever touch broken airplanes? I hope not.

The increase in the line premium makes sense, but the $2/hr increase is far too small. Same TA but with the same 6% lump sum for everyone plus $10/hr or $15/hr line premium and I'd bet the line vote would be 75% in favor. The bases would probably approve as well.

FIVE YEAR DEAL,,,,,FIVE YEAR DEAL,,,,,,, Five Year Deal!!!, 2008 to 2013. That point must be stressed at all times. We are looking at 6% over 5 years.
you guys will be responsible for taking down wages and benefits at all the other carriers now. Thanks alot. Why do you guys keep such an incredibly inept union and not change?

O, haven't you heard, AA has the highest labor rates in the universe. "Significantly higher than our competitors", but their catching up. We've also found that outsiders (AMFA) cannot win with the NMB, mAAjor corporations, and corrupt unions combining efforts to defeat all challengers.

Did you know that 27% of the labor cost at AA is management? Compare that to the 11% management cost at Southwest.

Majority I talked with today in TUL would be a NO vote.

A&P's upset that Welders and Machinist are getting more than them in pay increase.

Most agreed the line premium was OK.

The 50/49 age cutoff for change of Retirement Medical is a major concern.

Steve Luis might have made some points with the Welders and Machinist but the A&P base mechanic just turned on him.

There are some who only compare this to the earlier company proposal as a gain but most are not fooled.

The TWU remains on the property due to the NMB decision that denied us a vote not because folks in TUL like the TWU.

This will be rejected unless Steve Luis plays the FEAR card and tells everyone a STRIKE is the next step if rejected or the International accepts regardless of ratification outcome.

Once rejected the demographics of those rejecting will allow for the deal to be sweetened and a quick second vote to take place.

TUL Nominations for Election is this month and elections will take place in JUNE/JULY

I talked with 6 people today that are currently 49 and will be 50 by the end of the year that are mad as hell about the prefunding changes.

This will have to be modified to ever be ratified. So just consider it a starting point not a done deal.

well being a hangar a&p i would rather have the 2 dollar a hour pay raise rather than the 6% lump sum. with lump sum you get just over 4,000 dollars with the $2 pay raise over live of contract you would end up with over $13,000. and there is know way we will have another contract in that 3 year time spand so add another 3 years to negotiate another contract and that 13,000 will be over 26,000 dollars so what would you rather have.

I find it truly amazing how the twu bellys up to the table last and is allways the first to sign off on a concessionary deal. Lets get the APFA to represent because the twu was never up to the task.

A minimum of 13K in retro is due to the members for putting up with the stalled negotiations. AA is getting away with murder here open your eyes people.

You need to re-read the post

I read this as the poster would rather the have the line premium payraise than the 6% lump sum.

Doesn't sound like a YES vote to me, it sounds like a NO vote.

well reread again because i am voting no. all this t/a is doing is splitting the union. hell we already have aa against x twa now they are wanting flight line a&ps against hangar a&ps. all i was stating is that all these people who think that $4000 dollars is great better step back and see the whole picture.
