The question should be If you took a job with another carrier, which one would it be. These two have imo, vastly different pay scales and possiblities. One I would in a heartbeat, the other, no way.

I have worked with some really good young wrenches that were furloughed. Several of them were hired on by JBU and from discussions with them, I recieved the following tidbits:
JetBlue for AMT's:
Terms:
Five (5) year employment contract; 90 day notification of non-extension for additional five (5) year periods. Resignations from other airlines to which the prospective JBU employee holds recall must be made prior to hiring.
Duties:
AMT's hired to perform aircraft mx, facilities mx and gse mx. Additionally, shortages in other departments can result in reassignment but no change in pay.
Base Pay:
$23.00/hr. initial, top at five years of $30.00
Experience Premium:
(5 to 10 years Part 121 Experience: $1.00/hr.)
(10+ years Part 121 Experience: $2.00/hr.)
Lead Premium: $2.00/hr.
Shift Differentials:
Afternoon $.50/hr.
Nights $.65/hr.
Profit Sharing:
Undefined.
Insurance Benefits:
Medical, Dental & Prescription Drugs: AMT paid, amount depending on level
of coverage.
Short and Long Term Disability: AMT paid, amount depending on level of
coverage.
Life: Flat amount paid by JBU.
D&D: Flat amount paid by JBU.
Paid Time Off (combined Sick & Vacation):
Max accrual for Illness is 1600 hours(at 40 hours per week-40 weeks), and a backup plan that allows a Max Accrual of 240 hours (6 weeks). The PTO policy requires that current hours be used before banked illness hours, and, then backup hours as a last resort.
0-5 years 200 hours/year (5 Weeks)
6-10 years 280 hours/year (7 Weeks)
11-15 years 320 hours/year (8 Weeks)
15 or more years 360 hours/year (9 Weeks)
Holidays:
5 Holidays: payable only if the actual day preceeding, day of and following day are worked. Pay Rate😀ouble Time.

Arbitration:
JBU agrees to mediation for disputes not settled between the Company and the Employee utilizing the services of the American Arbitration Association according to timelines within the agreement butr for no longer than 60 calender days. Costs to be split evenly. If ,after the 60 day period, no settlement has been reached, either side can request arbitration, the cost of which shall be split between the parties.

Difficult to get vacation pay. If the holiday is Monday, you must work Sunday, Monday, AND Tuesday to get any holiday pay.
You must pay for insurance-- the FULL premium?
No stock options.
Pay for half of arbitration / mediation-- a LOT out of an employee's pocket. Wouldn't it be better to just pay union dues to have access to these things? And no doubt you have to prepare your own case and go up against jetBlue's attorneys or managers who specialize in arbitration. How lopsided is that?
But the piece de resistance is the five-year contract system. Very clever way to keep unions off the prpoperty. If you even THINK the word "union," they don't have to fire you and deal with the Dept's of Labor and Justice investigating-- they just mysteriously don't renew your next contract! Brilliant.

What should be added is which position? This question maybe for pilots where as they are more hungry for jobs then flight attendants or gate agents. As far as the pay, if you dont know now, then you should know better before you answer the question.
