WN Mechanics seek mediation

Looks like we will have no T/A by end of year. I say this because the company still refuses to move. Mc Crady needs to get a clue. He keeps saying we will have a T/A by fall and yet the company will not move. This is the 3rd time he has stated that we would have a T/A and nothing has come to fruitrition. How much longer will he continue to put these false statements out? He has been wrong since he has been here. At this time I say NO to the "Med-Arb" offer by the company. It has now seem to much more favor the company and not the membership. Bring Herb back!!!

I think they were actually making some progress on scope, until the economics came into, It would have been nice if they T/A the scope language, before pay came into it. The MedArb puts most of the risk on the company, it is binding to them, it is not binding to us if we say no , when we vote!

If they don't,accept the med / arb then in the next mediated meeting get the scope language T/A , and leave economics out of it, since most people on here are concerned about scope, if we are in no hurry, you can always work on economics in September !

Oh yeah, sure.
Lets just give them what they want now while they don't budge on the economic items.
That's a great idea Mark!

You are doing a terrible job of pretending to be one of us and not a company plant.

You can go back now and tell them that we weren't born yesterday and this stupid idea isn't going to work.

It appears the company intentionally stalled negotiations, supposedly since May, while they prepared their med-arb proposal. As I stated before I'm not against med-arb but am dubious about their claim that they are the ones taking the risk. Many have stated that when the company wants a deal a deal will be made. I can wait till they come around.

You know you are not to smart how negotiations work, the union could have had an extension, they choose not too, and we are where we are, so If AMFA in all the updates claim they don't want scope changes, then T/ A the scope it will be done, and then work on economics. You Swamt claim and yell and scream about scope then get it done. You claim you don't mind sitting forever at your current contract, you ask for my opinion and what great advice to pass to the negotiating committee, well there it is!

So you think I will go away if you expose me, I don't give a crap, I have a lot of people I know in my carrer, attorneys that are alot better than what we, have one of my good friends is the D/A of one of the largest counties in SWA home state, that knows alot of people, see my friend I didn't get where I am by being stupid, good luck!

The way I read the latest update, We moved toward the company's position on scope. It was however contingent upon them moving toward us economically. They, instead of moving toward our position, chose to not budge. We aren't going to give away language for nothing.

I'm sure everyone is impressed by who you claim to know., and the lofty position you have attained.

Mechanic just like you are if that is what you are, He thought he was being cute, exposing my name, just letting him know I am not defenseless, don't really give a crap! You get the T/ A on scope protecting the positions you feel are most important, then work on the economics, if it is to much then you back off. IN reality AMFA has sold a bill of goods that is getting hard to deliver the company will go to whatever the maintenance program for the 737 Max is, and they will say this is the work package,we will claim that's not our work scope, they will say sue us, and we will, and we will set here the next 3 years still arguing, meanwhile the membership will grow more and more impatient and angry! You see it is like a contractor saying I can build their nuclear power plant for this amount of money and can't finish it, because the funds are gone! Then it sits there incomplete !

Nope. It's too late. You have screwed the pooch on here. Nobody believes what you post or who you say you are.You are a troll.

I know I said earlier that I was against the med-arb process, but I am actually still thinking about it. Very curious at why the co. would push this process so strongly, kind of tells me they may know partly the outcome in advance. It seems to me the company got extremely upset at the more economics that AMFA passed to them as they were starting to make good progress on the scope language. but the co. needs to understand that a lot of changes have taken place since AMFA last passed a counter of numbers to the co. things like other airlines have been giving raises to their mechanics and yes SWA outside of have a contract as well. It is not illegal for a company to give raises outside of the contract as AA has done with 3 of their largest groups not too long ago, Delta did it with their pilots as well as other groups too, united mechanics also got their raises which have impacted the industry averages. I warned SWA of this was coming, the longer they take the more it will cost them in the long run. The other economic increases came from other groups on our property getting increases in their retirement contributions hence the increase in our 401 request went up accordingly as well as the other economics increases. It's the company's fault that the increases are coming, that's what they get for dragging these nego's for so long.
In the mean time I will get myself more educated on this med-arb crap before I make a final decision on it.

I think we should approach this Med/Arb with caution. As our National Director said in his last video update ,"Don't believe what the company says, believe what they do". They have dealt treacherously too many times in the past to be trusted.

What if (seriously) the guy is Management? Whatever arguments or debates he gives you, if you can't beat them he wins.

Forget who the "person" may or may not be and win the debate.

Why would I want to waste my time arguing with management on a forum?
I will let that happen at the table.

What I don't like is when someone joins this discussion with an agenda to divide our work group with specious arguments.
Someone who joins the week after a new company plan hits our email and starts out by disparaging our legal counsel and our elected union leaders under the guise of being one of us.
Someone who's posting content and number over a two week period are more in line with a disinformation campaign than actual discussion.

I would prefer to call a troll a troll and ignore.
