Sorry about the duplication - don't know how to delete this - wanted a poll.

:jerry: What could he debate on? :jerry:

1. The "industry leading"contract, he takes credit for, but really ONLY signed his name to.
NO

2. How he has UNIFIED the APFA workforce?
NO

3.How he stayed on top of AMR's finacial stability preparing for the RPA?
NO

4.Being Honest? :cop:
NO

5. Helping flight attendants at all cost ?
NO

WELL, WHATEVER THE DEBATE COULD BE........IT WILL BE SHORT.

It will be lies about protecting the old APFA members from the newer ex TW, APFA members. He has zero to stand on, but it hasnt stopped him in the past. I am just glad to see people now see him for what he is was and will always be. I knew and no one believed me. Sorry it took such a screwing.

Ducking a debate with all the hot issues in this election might be political suicide.

More importantly the only way to save his butt. Truth will kill Ward. His only chance is to do what he does best duck and hide. Let rumor and innuendo reign supreme. When people find out the truth, JW is dead in the water. The only thing we have to fear is a second term of this idiot, fool.

My guess:

He will accept the invitation to debate, and at the last minute there will be a family/company/union emergency that will prevent him from attending. He will send a sacrificial lamb in his place.

He accepted the challenge:
February 3, 2004

Dear Tommie:

I am in receipt of your faxed letter of yesterday, February 2, 2004, regarding the request by several APFA members that we, the candidates for president in the upcoming runoff election, engage in a debate; I would welcome the opportunity.

I am available on Wednesday, February 11, a date you had proffered in your letter to me as being acceptable to you. Please have a representative of your campaign contact Cheryl Walters in order to discuss the venue, format, etc. of the debate.

Sincerely,

John Ward

Now let's see if he will agree on the venue and format, or use those details as an escape clause.

Can you please post the actual letter (the official one)? Anybody can write a letter like that and post it. You're an attorney so you know how to make something look good.!! ;)

yikes, he answered............
- he "welcomed the opportunity" - let's be sure he actually goes to the debate.

Actually, I can't wait. I am looking forward to it. He has been in hiding a LONG time -

This was posted on the 4M. I have not seen the original.

From posters on other BB's that include APFA representatives, my sense is that the reply above from Ward is on the money. In other words, I'm betting that the probability that the above posted is accurate is greater than 95%.

From Back On The Right Track's latest email:

Many of you know that last week I challenged the incumbent to a live debate. The debate was for both the presidential and vice presidential candidates to face off on the real issues in DFW. He responded requesting MIA with one of his attorney's as the moderator. After days of negotiations we have agreed to debate in DFW on Thursday, February 19th. Ted Bedwell has refused to debate Brett Durkin. I urge as many of you as possible to come and be apart of this historical event for our union. Let this set precedent for future APFA national elections.

With hope for our collective futures,

Tommie Hutto-Blake
