Thb And Ward Debate

Not much. As a further slap in the face, the TWA people, whose bases were closed after 9/11, had been out of their home states for 18 months and had to collect unemployment in Missouri, which only pays 250 per wk. By contrast, my home state of NY, where I pay taxes, pays $405 per wk. The difference of $155 per wk comes out to $4030 for the 26 wk term.

Those of us furloughed late also got no extension of unemployment benefits, as did some of those furloughed earlier.

I know furlough is tough....I've been there myself before. This was not asked as a "slap in the face" to anyone. Just trying to add up the differences. Sorry to hear about the tough choices that you have had to deal with. Its tough to not get emotional when you consider what could have been. Best of luck to all our furloughees and to a quick call back to those wishing to return.

It seems some people are quite happy to steal from others. It is no more than that, just plain stealing from others who were in an unfortunate position. The same logic can be applied to closing soup kitchens that feed the poor and needy. Close them so the rest of us will have more. An outrageous point of view, but one that certainly characterizes some APFA members.

Just think, if the TWA'ers were able to steal seniority from the AA'ers we wouldn't even be having this conversation.

Why is you never address the issue, always deflecting to somewhere else to avoid the issue?
We all took big paycuts, no one stole from anyone. Your reference to people stealing from one another is rediculous. Being on furlough is a little harder than for those of us lucky enough to have been able to keep our jobs, but cuts are cuts and we all have seen our share. Besides the TWA'ers were not eating at the soup kitchen before furlough, they were at the top of the pay scale.

Your right! I took less of a paycut because of the furlough pay issue. I think the idea was to keep our pay levels higher so that when the furloughees get recalled they have a job worth coming back to. Remember cuts in pay are til the next round of negotiations, furlough pay is a one time event. Instead of rehashing what we lost already we should be planning our course for the next round of negotiations.

Does anyone have the numbers for what furlough pay would have been? This will help us judge the situation better.
MiAAmi, you can't get a figure on what the furlough pay would have been. You would have to know all 6,140 of the flight attendants pay rates. Only then could you figure it out.

If you want to know the exact number call all 5,760 of the furloughs at home and ask them what their last pay rate was? ;)

Gosh MiAAmi, I can hardly wait to tell the TWAers about this. Your thinking about furlough pay, "Your right! I took less of a paycut because of the furlough pay issue. I think the idea was to keep our pay levels higher so that when the furloughees get recalled they have a job worth coming back to."

It is so comforting to hear you were thinking about the furloughees. Your empathy for them just shines right through. I'll bet they can hardly to hear the news that you were sacrificing them so they would have something to come back to.

Are you a friend of of J. Ward's most loving and concerned supporter J. Narey? Today it is reported J. Narey turned in Jeff Bott as being a member of management. What desparation.

Live in a Hotel, do you have to be so cynical ALL the time? For your information I was asking in general terms. Kirkpatrick was adult enough to answer the question for us. I don't like the fact that furlough pay was cut, so don't act like I'm promoting it. I'm just trying to put numbers together to see where the money was directed.

Give me a break. The Cuts were coming no matter what. There was no way AA was going to ground all the aircraft that they did and not have furloughs.

Hotel, please! please!...... the last thing we want is a call from miaami! Let him figure that out himself.

A call from me may not be wanted but may you get a call soon, perhaps back to work. Good luck to all the furloughees.

No, not at all. You asked what the figures would be and I told you what it would take to figure it out. Have you started making those 5,760 phone calls yet? Actually you only need to call 5,759 now! twasilverbullet, doesn't want to hear from you. LOL! ;)

Ohhh my gosh!..... That's the nicest thing you have said, if only you could get over the TWA'ers....I'd be willing to invite you for a cup of coffee and make peace,... how about starbucks?.........you'd have to pay though, since I ain't got no job, unless you would rather go to the soup kitchen with me instead. :D
