With the Current Market How long do you you give US Airways fight for survival to continue? I hope for all the employees sake, forever.

CHOO CHOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CHOO CHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YOU DIDN’T BELIEVE ME WHEN I TOLD YOU WE WERE HEADING IN THIS DIRECTION …. WELL DO YOU BELIEVE ME NOW ??????????????????? DO YOU ??????????????? DO YOU ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

I believe that US willbe around for the long haul Freedom, who said we were heading in this direction and what direction is that? if its the stock market, then the current economy is a disaster yet i believe given the fact that the oil prices have come down that these airlines including usairways will be around for a long long time

In a weird way I think a recession may help Airlines right now. We already have 10% capacity cuts, if the economy tanks all airlines will cut even more. But the biggest impact to a worldwide recession is oil is likely to fall back into the $50 dollar range. With capacity cuts, higher fares and fees the airlines might just do ok.

Shame , Shame Freedom, 1.5 years ago you were worried about the inflight magazine and now you are here finally realizing the ship is going down????
You never cease to amaze me.

Even after a recent equity infusion, U.S. Airways is clearly the most troubled carrier. The carrier in on track to post more than $400 million in negative operating cash flow this year. Yet while other carriers can move aggressively to trim capacity to save costs, U.S. Airways has much less flexibility.

Yinz better put down those Sudoku puzzles and get out in the aisle selling cokes!

I got good news and good news...

Cosi fan tutti!

and...Passengers are paying them, if begrudgingly, and aren't shifting in large numbers to the few airlines that don't charge fees like Southwest Airlines Co

Today:
Sun Country ask employees to take an immediate 50% paycut and the Wall Street Journal had a story saying 20 Airlines may go out of business next year!

So I am happy with whatever management does that keeps us employed and so far so good!

How large can the numbers shifting to SWA be? They have a finite number of airplanes, a finite number of seats and, like everyone else in the universe, a finite number of hours each day to operate. Even if their load factor were to go to 100% during this pullback of the other airlines, they could not take up even a fraction of the slack in ASMs industry wide.
