Gonzo,uhhh

what new class and craft....hello
Dont chew my ass, but I think what the IBT means by this is we will be a new class unit certified by the NMB. As apose to to class units certified by to seperate Unions with two seperate CBA's. Just makes since ?
I have failed to find a statement in the RLA or NMB where this is pertinant, the RLA and NMB rules allow a Carrier or a Union to Arbitraraly change rates of pay, work rules etc... as long as it is done per sec.6 ( title 156) ??? But this is applicable to either Union. Just the IAM has no interest in doing so cause there due's are not based on hourly wage like the IBT.. At least thats what I was told at the IAM meeting in Tempe.. They got there scope which protects your job and there cash cow, and there happy while you suffer.

well then friend....what would be the NEW CLASS?....
from east and west coast mechanic to what?? an amalgamated mechanic??
look into the contracts from both unions....their's have mech classes that no longer exist at U.....why do you think AWA is dragging their feet at the bargaining table????because its inevitable IAM will get the nod.i do not say this out of allegiance...but for fact.why did IBT file an objection to single carrier status???to stall while they attempt to get more cards coming in....
and my sources from high atop the machinists union headquarters in DC advise its a no go for IBT.
thanks or the memories.....
your self appointed union officials come on here with bogus claims and when pinned,go the silent route.....they distort claims and when pressed..silence...face the music people from AWA its an IAM day a'comin....

I dont know what the new class is... I thought it was a symantics bullshit thing like "new class" or "newly certified class" doesnt matter.

Will we ex HP mech's be under the BK IAM contract, and if so how?
A change in representation does not void a contract... Right?
I have researched this to great lenghts just for fun and just to be informed.
With no real positive answers, only that in past cases CBA's from the outgoing Union were not voided when the unit potitioned the NMB or a District court. I know 700 said thats BS cause of the BK but provided no proof and there is none. Well if the IBT is out who could do this for us ex-HP tech's... The IAM? Would be nice since were might be paying them dues. Why would the IAM go out of there way to petition the NMB to bring us under there BK contract? Just service our current on or hell even renegotiate our ammendable one till 2009. Then petition to bring US east under the new contract?
No offence but many of the remarks made by Dell and others seem to have the air of " I got screwed and I hope/know that you will to" , which is a hell of a welcome to the family.
