I dont know what the new class is... I thought it was a symantics bullshit thing like "new class" or "newly certified class" doesnt matter.
No offence but many of the remarks made by Dell and others seem to have the air of " I got screwed and I hope/know that you will to" , which is a hell of a welcome to the family.

I am sorry you have the felling that,you do.I dont think anyone here is intentionally trying to make you feel that way,I hope I havnt.You have have some fun with this and sometimes it goes over board.Or is taken the wrong way.I for one dont want any of you fine western/mechs to get stuck with anything.
Its not as much as who's sticking who as it is protecting our own,and well we are all family now and it should be taken that way.Sometimes brothers fight,or debate,call it what you want its just the process,with out it we would all be going down a dark path.

We have asked the IBT here what class and craft (new that there will be) and have had no answer.A few years ago we did bring in our planners under our contract but that job was not new,it was just not under our union at the time and only there wages were negotiated.

A new class and craft would be (i.e. bs detection specialist)and it would have to be a job the company created,not the union then the IBT could negotiate there wages if they wanted to,and were elected to reprsent them.

Hope this helps some and lifts some of the gloom,its not all bad,and I hope it works out for us all look forward to working with you in the future.

I really dont think any of us have much to worry about, and if we do this forum / debate is a good distraction from the fact that nothing is really happening and wont for awhile.
Anyone reading this DONT BE FOOLED INTO THINKING THERE IS NO WORK OUT THERE.... It is everywhere... Military, commercial, regional, production, modifications, line work, composite,sheetmetal,, AVIONICS!!! The Airlines :angry: and the news :angry: want to paint a bleak picture for A/C mech's but that is so false.

Why are you so shaken dell? There have been several answers to the question that you and Mr. 70 have asked. The fact remains that they were not acceptable to you or him. The fact that you keep pushing for a different answer until you get what you want is unacceptable. The answer was given accept it and move on.

The silent route is nothing more than putting an end to the garbage that you and Mr. 70 put out.

Threats are all that you and Mr. 70 have to offer. If you feel that this is a welcome to the IAM, that shows every one how the IAM treats its "prospective" members as well as it's members.

It's not over until it's over. I'm not willing to say things will be one way or the other. I speak for no one but myself.

Doesn't sound like a place that I want to be nor does it sound like a place that welcomes new people. I am very happy I could provide such entertainment for you and your followers. If such a small mistake has given you such entertainment I can only imagine what fun you had with all the members that lost their jobs, while you were still employeed. Sorry Brothers, they keep talking about how good your contract is and fail to even acknowledge that it caused your job loss.

Everyone remeber to judge for for yourself by reading both contracts. Think about how you have been treated by your union. Sign a card. Have control over your future. Signing a card doesn't mean you want the Teamsters, but it is saying that you are not satisfied with your union.

yes...its a management function as they are responsible for printing and providing per the contract....supervisors distributed them recently in pit.usually they call the union reps and divy them out..but this time they did it wholly.

Exit? I'm still here. I have always answered your questions to the best of my ability. It seems to be a "tactic" of the IAM to press the questions until they get what they want. If you don't get the answer you want then you declare it a "victory". I don't think you will find the IBT using the "run and hide" tactics. You would only hope that the IBT was so "mis-informed". Then you could spread your false information and continue with your avoiding the facts tactics.

I should probably let you find out on your own, but dell has to ask Mr. 70 about this first. You were given the "canned" answer by dell. Soon you will be told that you can find a copy of it on "the HUB", if you have access to it.

If you work for AWA you do not have access to "the HUB" yet. Good luck and beware.

The copy of the IAM contract on this board is accurate in it's content. The pages will not be the same as the "new" copy of the contract that the IAM memebers recieve because because it is a correction copy, but it is accurate
