Why Tim Nelson is Dangerous to IAM-represented employees at United Airlines

He is not a United employee he has no bussiness interfering with United Airlines workers. If he wants to speak out perhaps he should quit USAIrways and get a job with United. This guy is effecting my Retro Pay and I have waited long enough I wish he would just mind his own business and worry about his own airline.

The nature of our industry has all unionized employees elligible to critique. Its the simplest form of information...Communication 101....

I really want too see the TA now. We all have a stake and yes you are UA and i am US but we are both IAM !

Affecting your retro pay?.... hmmm so now i get it ! What about those that wanted to be non-union but have to be because the majority says so.... Your retro will untimately be decided by you and your peers at UA

The question has nothing to do with me. Hell, I don't even vote on your contract so it is absurd to suggest I am affecting your retro unless more United folks listen to me than your leadership. What is more likely the case is that your United airline members, who you represent, are smarter than you think and actually know how to read. You guys are so arrogant, you think facebook chatter caused your TA1 to get voted down but what you don't realize is all of your absolute talk and bull crap doesn't play too well when folks actually read and figure out that you are all hot air.

Quit blaming me for your own actions. And START Listening to your members instead of serving short term political gains.

+1

But our deal directly affects his airline because he is a member of the same District. I (and rightly so) would be concerned about a deal that can affect their negotiations. Tim is just pointing out valid concerns about the language. Lets see the actual TA when it comes out and go from there.

Nope. Doesn't work that way- not in this day & age.

Commercial aviation is waaayy too intertwined for that. What happens at one carrier absolutely affects the others, and when you clowns lower the bar with crap like this, it has a knock on effect everywhere.

It's amazing that you guys not only ignored the wishes of your membership, but also were completely outwitted at the table, but here we are. Your "we got this" mindset is clearly misguided. You don't "got" a damn thing. Like I said earlier, Smisek & Co. must not be able to believe their luck.

Brother 13 what happens at UA/CO and the current TCBA effects ALL of US. You are right those at LCC don't work for UA/CO. But, how IAM Members vote will effect the rest of the Members in the Union. I like others have not or will not always agree with Brother TN on every issue. However, let me ask you and others how can you trust current Airline Industry Management if the CBA doesn't state in writing that your WORK CAN NOT BE CONTRACTED OUT, they won't ? I suggest you check the D-141 IAM archives. Especially what happened at Alaska Airlines when that trusted Management contracted out the entire Ramp in SEA .

Jet Job if what I heard from a briefing at AFL hdqts is correct an average ft 20 yr ramper will collect about 8,000 in retro money and some who work a lot of overtime will make something in the neighborhood of 10.5 to 11 thousand dollars. That is a very large check to turn down with bills coming in and stuff getting more expensive. Gives a new meaning to let go my retro!

It's called " Bait and Switch "

Get It?

It Is about us at united. It's time to recoup and move on together Nelson believes has the answers but he can only criticize any attempts to move the whole group to the same page. Looks like Nelson is a bitter party of one. Hey Nelson how did your change of control work out ? It didn't did it?

I want my retro and Nelson and his other aliases won't keep us from ratifying

Under Canale yes we did. Under Rich i'm hoping not. But we will see. Everything translates to $$ in the end. I just believe that the top % is forgetting about the rest.....and the company knows that. Do what you have to do. i have only opinions on the matter after 39 yrs....
Your goal is yours and mine will be mine in the end...

But, you have to believe that, that is all you can hope to get in the end. I don't , but if you do the i wish you success!!

Mike 33 what I'm saying, it's the best in the industry today. The battle, will continue but nelson demands all or nothing and I for one am sick of him trying to pretend he is an expert on UAL. He is a poser and cannot admit he is wrong concerning scope.

I await the term sheet. Until then i wish you well....

If its US who takes the next step then so be it !

Let me make sure I understand correctly. You are advocating the UA members vote in this POS T/A with minimal to non-existent SCOPE just to get a few pieces of coin in their pockets today? Talk about an irrational decision, that is what the company wants to happen, people to get emotional about the windfall of a small sum on money and make a snap decisions to endorse an otherwise garbage agreement. Just like the games car dealerships play to get people to spend more money on a car than they can really afford. In the grand scheme of peoples careers $11k is insignificant, and you are advocating they vote this in, and vote many coworkers out of a job just to receive a small sum of money today? Is this what labor has come to? Me thinks you want this to pass so IAM/AFL-CIO can begin collecting dues from the unorganized sCO agents.
