Why I Voted Yes

Why be sore losers? I can just imagine if it had gone the other way.... It's over... time to move on.

Time to move on-to seperate contracts that is.

To the 26% of Tulsa that voted NO all I can say is I'm sorry, we cant allow your peers to continue to destroy the profession. We welcome you to come join us on the line. Maybe the portion of the 23% of the line guys who voted Yes that dont take the $40k and run will be willing to go to Tulsa. But we can no longer afford to be associated with Tulsa. I tried to the best of my ability to work with your representatives, but we were stabbed in the back. Then Sam bitches about people from other Locals talking to his members, as Tulsa sits on the roll call vote at the table as well. So Tulsa gets two bites at the apple, the ability to control the discussion about what even gets put out to the members and when, plus they have the largest membership to ensure ratification.

If we look at the history of the votes in the overwhelming majority of cases, there has been a huge disconnect between the rest of Title I and Tulsa Title I. Absent Tulsa we could easily overcome Title II in the low cost areas.

As much as I believe in Unionism I cant see any reason to believe that continuing to be associated with Tulsa will provide any benefit to us or the profession under the current structure. We need to push for seperate contracts now.

No need to apologize Bob. As a NO voter from Tulsa, the yes voters will soon see the errors of their ways as they drag the rest of us down with them. Truly sad!

Bob, as a 26+year AMT at TULE I want to apologize to you for the TULE YES Vote. I appreciate you being the watchman and sounding the alarm warning about LBO 2.0 It still is mind boggling that TULE voted Yes by this wide of a percentage. The Yes voters are the "Biggest Losers" because they just voted to OUTSOURCE ALL OUR JOBS INCLUDING THEIR OWN JOBS! Evidently they did not read #2 and #3 on page 21 in th TA.It is a BLANK CHECK to let AA have open ended excuse for OUTSOURCING however much work they want to.
I do appreciate your valiant effort to get a rejection of the bad LBO 2.0 I wish you the very best in whatever you choose for your future.

Bob, after AA gets done with TULE, you will be able to outvote them.

No need for seperate contracts.

That sounds exactly like Delle's AMFA rhetoric. His pitch from day one was: 1st Line Maint, and 2nd Ovhl, Title II, and everyone else in the Mechanic & Related Group. When raiding other unions he was forced to accept people he really didn't want in his elitist organization. You may have a problem with how AMTs vote when they don't agree with you, but suck it up. Ovhl AMTs have just as much right to their opinion as you do to yours.

Do overs! I voted yes and now I want to vote no.

Thats right Realitychick, just as you try to force your opinion on the no voters to try and sway votes. No different. Now we have to move on and hope for the best, but expect the worst!

The truth is you were beaten by the truth Bob. The leadership of Local 514 did nothing more than inform the membership of what the TA encompassed and the impacts of an abrogated agreement. They did their elected jobs and informed their membership, so that is why 74% voted in favor of the TA. I and many others here informed those who choose to dwell here of the same truth. My reputation on this site took a beating, falling to -268 but I didn't care and like my local leadership drove on and stayed focused on the truth.....

Some TULE folks on this forum had better carefully consider that they could wind up at a Line Station when AA finishes OUTSOURCING the AMT work at TULE.

My heavens!

The king suck is back!

Your reputation on this site is richly deserved.

The other airlines chose to outsource most of overhaul, especially the "less skilled" positions. AA has chosen (for now) to keep those positions in Tulsa and obviously that is keeping the line pay lower than our peers. That is reality. Check?
One of my first posts here 2 years ago was questioning Bob on how he could be pushing for an industry leading contract for us when we still have so much in-house overhaul. I disagreed with Bob that we could expect to have top pay for everyone when we have 3 times the number of mechanics. To Bob's credit never once then or since has he ever said that an overhaul mechanic should be paid less than a line mechanic.

Despite the posters here that have accused him of being devisive or against Tulsa I challenge any of you to find a post where he has done that. He has pushed for an industry leading contract for everyone so forgive him for being pissed at these results. The cold truth is that most of the jobs in Tulsa will be paid above the market rate. Particularly those "less skilled" jobs. The line will be paid below market rate.

This is how the TWU has divied up the money and your president and other non mechanics rammed it through.

Who is being devisive?
