What's With AWA F/A's writting people up?

I don't mind a spirited debate. I do hate to get into a battle of wits with an unarmed person.

Really Bob? These cheeky comments are the best you can come up with? What are you debating me with other than these trivial comments you probably pull off of your mothers "e-mail of the day." (At least SHE isn't ashamed of you, unlike your father)

And remember: "A witty saying proves NOTHING!" -Voltaire

See? I even cite my quotes, I don't use them as if they were my own.

Fact still stands, FA's have attitude problems, I think this thread about PROVES that.

Will someone please make PO'ed dissapear, go away! Please!! I am not the only flight attendant discusted and offended by his imature remarks.

Can someone explain this to me please...I'm a paper pusher, button puncher, desk jockey(whatever you want to call me)and I've never worked as an FA or gate agent. Why wouldn't the FA's know when the pilots are arriving, my logic seems you're part of the flight crew so you have just as much right to know when the pilot is showing up as the gate agent does.
Also, could you please explain the comment flygirl74 made "Well, I did 38 flights last month. Boarding is 30/35/45 minutes prior to departure depending on the type of aircraft. That's a lot of work to do and remember, we are not getting paid to board." You're there and you're working, so why wouldn't you be getting paid? I don't understatnd?
And you know what I've experienced rude people everywhere, East and West on NW AA and UA, and not even on airlines. So, why does everybody keep trying to label it an EAST V.S. WEST thing, rude people are everywhere.
We don't stay with our pilots on the West like the East does. Sometimes we overnite, do turns together, but we are with a new cockpit almost every leg. It is nice when we get to stay with them for more than a day! :D

I think his inner child needs a spanking..
Needs the boot! And another job. Please go concentrate attention on getting your degree, and get a real job, and then I will be willing to hear what you have to say PO'ed. For now, you are a whipper snapper who needs to fly off like a bug, and get real! <_<

It’s too bad they yuppified the Valley Ho in Scottsdale. I could’ve bought you a few beers back when we got them for $1 with our crew discount.

As for writey-uppy FAs, the Perfects Attendance Awards will be coming out in a few months. Are they still handing out pens as a reward?

There is a lot we are not getting paid for. And like you, the general public, doesn't know or understand this. That's okay. Our flight pay doesn't start until the door is closed on the aircraft. So all the time we spend briefing, checking emergency equipment, boarding passengers, checking bags etc., we're not getting paid. The same can be said in reverse. We don't get paid for deplaning, cleaning the aircraft, assisting with wheelchair pax. the list goes on and on. The company is getting more than thier money's worth out of the f/a's.

And yes, rude people are everywhere. It seems to be a national pasttime.

Well, that's just WRONG!! STUPID and WRONG!! Seems to me if you're working you should be getting paid something. We kind of have the same thing, once we hit our 40 hours a week no extra pay. If you stay to finish things, you start wracking up "comp" time, basically working for free but they keep track of it for us. The idea is that its banked time, in case of an unplanned emergency. But you're not supposed to accumulate more than 16 hours of it, I'm well over that right now because it's so darn hard to try and use it. You can't just use it to take a half day off.

OK we get it.

Flight Attendants don't go for angry drooling types, and that just makes you angrier (not sure how you could drool more).

Try not to be so angry, and remember your lips are for keeping food and drool from falling out of your mouth.

I just heard that f/a's write folks up for serving a whole can of soda. How silly is that?
NOT TRUE. It's actually part of WEST buy-on-board service to supply a full can on the first beverage run, pour on the second.

I was just having the discussion of flight attendants writing up each other on my last trip. What I find amazing, astonishing actually is in MOST cases the f/a writing up or crew writing up the f/a won't address it one on one. They have the man berries to take the time and write them up but won't MOST TIMES have a discussion about the problem while working. I know there are those on this board that "would tell them" but we know as past experience will dictate that it's NOT the case. So anyway, STOP writing people up unless it's something seriously endangering your or your fellow passengers lives, or SERIOUSLY interfering with the job. Honestly, don't we have enough to worry about with out of touch management and an inept MEC?
