Do mechanics in Tulsa realize, or care, that these twu int. mobsters are robbing us blind? And don't you care that we can't vote for our international president or recall him? All these international guys make six figures, have no term limits, and are NOT coming back to the floor to bust knuckles like we do. They want our money!

Any TULE mechanics out their care to give their opinion on how we are getting robbed blind by the international? If negotiations go south in a few weeks, are you prepared for the 30 day cooling off period and a possible strike? Myself and several others I've spoken with at DFW, AFW, JFK, LAX, MIA ect. agree that the company/international, has jacked with us enough, and are all in for whatever happens. No more rolling over, this isn't your dad's or gradfathers union anymore. This company will take, and take , and take, because they know we will cave. I sure hope things are different this time.

TWU Genius of the week

Gary Drummond 25/11/2010 (Another two time winner) Paid $181,869.00

"We've spent the past couple months on what I would call a listening tour. We wanted to gauge where the members are and gain a better sense of why the tentative agreement was voted down - despite a majority of local leaders recommending the settlement. In some places, we need to tweak the previous agreement, and there are some areas that will require much more work at the bargaining table."
Listen to this dopey, what the hell have the TWU been doing for past 3 years. It was voted down because it was crap. The majority of local leaders recommended it, so they can get a job at the International. TWEAK THIS

Timothy Gillespie 11/4/10 Paid $161343.00

Mr Gellespie quote of the day when he was asked about his postion pertaining why the crew chiefs are working with a two man crew. His quote was "No where in the contract does it say crew chief can`t work, especaily when they have their finger up their ass !!!". That's our International doing what does best, agreeing with the company. The International would rather agree than fight it. We always had three man crew or more ? It's the International selling us out again.

Don Videtich 10/25/10 (Another two time winner) Paid $158,008.00

Recently it was announced that the maintenance negotiating group was to be trimmed down to a 7-member subcommittee. This hearken the days this past July when the negotiating committee was similarly reduced to a 7-man committee for direct negotiations with the company in meditated talks. In a secret ballot, Don Videtich stacked the subcommittee with concessionists and presided over a mediated session that resembled a WWF Smackdown. The profanity and threats of violence directed toward a member of the negotiating committee who objected to concessions violated the TWU Constitution. But Don Videtich remained the darling of Management-TWU quest for Labor submission. However, when the votes of the concessionary contract were tallied it failed to follow the script written by Brother Videtich. The tentative agreement was swiftly defeated 2-1.

Now as the maintenance group once again revisits the 7-member subcommittee it is totally excluded of cronies and International wannabes. In fact, the member that Don Videtich was sacrificing to the International attack dogs in July will now have a leadership role in the subcommittee. Brother Videtich can be seen at the ATD cafeteria eating humble pie.

Gordon Clark 09/25/10 (Two time winner) Scroll down to see his brown nosing letter back in August
Kansas City Local President Gordon Clark told the Dallas Morning News on the last day of operations at MCI: "After spending the last nine years fighting and exploring every opportunity to preserve this unique and one-of-a-kind aircraft overhaul facility, the fight is over . . . We fought hard, gave it everything we had, and executed our battle plan to a T." So, I guess your battle plan was to giveaway productivity gains for free and submit to more concessions. Congratulations Brother Clark, you are our first repeat winner of the prestigious TWU Genius of the Week.

Gary Drummond 09/06/10 Paid $181,869.00

In the Sept 6, 2010 Star-Telegram Blog newly appointed ATD Director (nobody really gets voted in) Garry Drummond says "our negotiating committees are canvassing our members to determine the exact reasons the tentative agreements were voted down. " Another college educated TWU appointee totally clueless with the needs of the membership. Perhaps he should spend little bit more time with the members he serves rather than reading Barrons. When asked to comment on the status of the Fleet Service negotiations after asking to be released and voting overwhelmingly to strike Drummond said "we are willing to resume discussions with the company in an effort to reach a fair and equitable agreement." So, you're going to ask the federal mediator to un-release the Fleet Service group??? I bet that will make management quiver.

Don Videtich 08/26/10 Paid $158,008.00

Publicly he was spewing the International mantra of let the members decide. Privately, however, he was ramming through the concessions. Even mailing 10,000 leaflets filled with gloom and doom to every members' home with the ballots. This done without the consent of the negotiating committee. We know the results; the T/A was defeated 2 - 1. Don Videtich, this Bud is for you.

I like Jimmy Little's secretary pullin down $140, 853, that is just over the top. She must be something to require mid-six figures. I wonder what Arpey's assistant makes? $200.000?

*Please note Jim Little's Secretary gets paid almost twice as much as a mechanic who works on aircraft.
It's not necessarily that she's overpaid, but more like we are underpaid!!!!
When Brother Little gets on a plane, and it hurtles down the runway and reaches rotation speed, and the wings and the engines are straining against the forces of nature and it's make or break time. I wonder if he's sitting in his seat praying to whatever God he believes in, at this point it isn't the almighty dollar, if he really thinks that his typist is worth twice as much as the people that make sure his plane is working safely.

You can make life easier for yourselves when you understand that the TWU [or any Union for that matter] is nothing more than a Corporation interested in self preservation. The needs and opinions of the membership is way down at the bottom of the priority list if on the list at all.Just an observation from being in the TWU for 25 Years and also observing the other unions that represent Airline employees.

I agree with you that the twu is a corporation with the interest of self preservation, and most catch all labor unions are like this. Do you think it will be that way with craft union, made up of just AA employees, that control the leadership and money? Scan through AMP's constitutiion and by-laws and get back with us.

So you think the TWU should just publicly support featherbedding? The crew chief isn't management. Why wouldn't they be expected to work?

Well since you like to bring it up so much, with 15 million out of work we should consider featherbedding to be our patriotic duty, so we can get them people off government assistance and out there earning and consuming and paying taxes for a change!!!! What are you some sort of Communist that you want all those unemployed to keep living off our Taxes!! If we are more productive it means the company can get rid of more people and put more people on the dole and create an even larger burden for the beleagured taxpayers of this country. If an FSC CC does his job as well as a clerks job he's eliminating someones else job. TRAITOR!!!!

Corporations are sitting on trillions of dollars and wont hire because we are being more productive. Featherbedding is the Patriotic way of forcing that money back into the economy.

So Yes, I support featherbedding as a means to combat the hoarding of Capital by corporations and relieve the suffering of the unemployed. What should we do keep being "more productive" for these "multinational Corporations' that hoard the economic lifeblood of our economy or featherbed by American workers for other American workers!!??

Well if you must know what is going in T-Town I will try to explain. The members of TWU Local 514 are anticipating the upcoming round of contract negotiations and the buzz is what are they going after but to date no information has been released.

Oh, and if your interest for the T-Town question is about the AMP drive, well its a dead stick, even my welder friend who encouraged me to read the AMP Constitution and offer my opinion has quit coming around too. I guess he too seen the light....

and youu were expecting better from some that brags about his lifelong friends with Tim Ahern, who also brags about their 20+ year friendship. Of and for a bonus Robin Gelespie that gets another $22K of dues money is what relation to Tim? Well done that is fine, ethical representation you got right there.

Oh, leave Tim out of it. He's one of the more decent people I've ever worked for...
