What If Ron Paul Wins Iowa? What Then?

The article is only more proof that Paul supporters are just like any other political supporters. They do not seem to care about the will of the people (misguided or not) and will do what ever is necessary to win. If that means subverting the will of the people as expressed by their votes so be it. What they are doing seems to be legal but the bottom line is the people voted one way and the delegates are not reflecting the vote. So much for principles and honor.

Don't get your feathers all ruffled at me. I could care less if Paul steals one primary or fifty. Not my candidate and I would not vote for him.

The point is and you know exactly what I am getting at. The people made their voice heard via the democratic process and the Paul delegates manipulated the rules to circumvent their votes. I am fully aware that politics is a dirty game where lying, pandering, cheating, stealing to mention only a few traits are part and parcel of the game. I was under the impression that Paul was supposed to be above that (at least according to you). He is supposed to be a man of principle and honor. A man who does the right thing regardless of political expediency. Sitting idly by while ones delegates manipulate the system to garner votes that were not earned via a democratic election seems to lack all of those traits. I see this as more proof that Paul is just one of the boys. Welcome to the club.

If Paul plays by the rules and garners enough delegates....how can that be manipulating/circumventing the established rules?
Looks only like he is using the rules to his advantage.
Rules passed and sanctioned by his own party.

Ron Paul wins Louisiana. Got 6% of the primary vote, but 17 of the committed delegates in the caucases.

Santorum got 10, Romney 5.

A win is a win.

Please do not misquote me. That is not what I said. Pauls people are circumventing the voters not the rules. There is a huge difference.

NO! They are not! They played by the rules designed to thwart all but the bought and paid for candidates selected by the East Coast Elite. The Party Made the Rules, He's playing by the rules. Now he wins a few and the Wall Street/Red Reserve lap dogs who wrote the rules cry foul? What a joke some are.

GOP designed those rules. In many states, delegates are not obligated to vote for the popular candidate. Why is that?
Paul still will be playing by the rules.

The two of you are pieces of work. My first post said nothing about violating the rules, only circumventing the vote of the people. Yet I was accused of saying rules were violated. I made a second post clearly stating that I did not think any rules were violated but that the popular vote was being ignored. Yet again I am accused of saying that rules were violated. WTH?

So lets try it again. I did not say and am not saying that any rules were violated, not that I give a rats a$$ if they were. What I am saying is that it seems the popular vote is being ignored. Why I do not know and again I really do not care. Ostensibly it is for the same reasons argued in favor of the electoral college. Again, I do not know nor do I really care.

My point about this is that Paul and his supporters argue in favor of freedom and supposedly support the will of the people. I guess the exception being when they can manipulate the rules in their favor to gain a political advantage. I understand that Paul and his supporters feel the rest of the world is ignorant of the truth (as they see it) and that our intentions are misguided but they still are our intentions and the votes were cast the way they were. The bottom line is that the delegate manipulation does not reflect the vote. I see hat as an example of politics as usual. The two of you can dress that pig up any way you choose.

I do not recollect accusing you of anything. Why is there a rule allowing delegates to go off campus, so to speak then? Must be a reason. Address that pig.

Perhaps I misread this but you mention rules three times where I did not mention them a single time. My references were to the subversion of the will of the people.

Again, I do not know why the RNC established the rules that they have. I am a liberal and could care less. For the record I do not even care about the DNC to examine their rules either. As I said earlier, the rules could have been adopted for the same reason we have an electoral college. I do not know. All I am saying is that I believe the delegate count does not reflect the out come of the elections and that the will of the people is being subverted by Paul and his supporters who supposedly profess to be champions of freedom and the will of the people.

Again to be clear. I d not believe rules have been violated, but rather manipulated to get a favorable out come for Paul and his supporters.

We KNOW that the Republicrats are all bought and paid for. We have the FEC reports to PROVE IT! That is not ignorant of the truth as we believe it to be. That is FACT.

When I was more heavily involved in the role of Consumer Advocate with certain airlines at FFOCUS I made it my business to know the Contract of Carriage inside out, sideways, forward and backwards so that when a customer contacted me I could tell if they had a legitimate complaint. I helped people get thousands. I did it simply by knowing the rules and how to use them to my advantage. Ron Paul did EXACTLY the same thing and now somehow he is perverting the will of the people? Who do you think voted for the delegates at the various caucuses? We The People who give enough of a crap took part in the political process. How is that bad? Because you/your guy didn't and now you don't like it?

The US was a meritocracy in that those who worked the hardest got the reward. Well Ron Paul out worked the rest at building a base of support that captured the delegates. BYW, for the record OBAMA pulled similar stuff in 2008 that allowed him to get the jump on Hillary as many of the democrat rules are quite similar.

Maybe America needs a little sleight of hand to get back on the right track.
Ron Paul could be the third Blues Brother.

You sure take the scenic route to get to a point. I'm not sure who elects the delegates and nor do I really care. According to the article you posted, Paul only got 6% of the votes yet ends up with 75% of the delegates? Apparently the people do not vote for the delegates, perhaps I am wrong?

I believe there is a difference between being familiar with the rules and getting all that you have coming to to you and using weaknesses in the rules and manipulating them to achieve the out come that you desire. The vote count in the primaries does not seem to match the delegate count that Paul is getting, at least not according to the article you posted.

Paul is not my guy, the RNC is not my party, I could care less. Paul will be a foot note in history. Romney will get the nomination, Paul will be/is marginalized. He presents very poorly on stage. He is a whiny old man and I doubt anyone wants him on stage at a convention. Some of his ideas have a bit of merit but most are just off the wall.

The people do indeed vote! Who else would? Jesus, The Tooth Fairy?

Apparently, Some of the Party Elite are more than a little worried. We'll see who the foot note is come Tampa and perhaps again in November.

Individual Freedom & Liberty is Off the the wall?
The right to live as you choose is Off the the wall?
Repeal of the Patriot Act is Off the the wall?
A full public accounting audit of the Central Bank that controls our money is Off the the wall?
Elimination of NDAA and the TSA is Off the the wall?

Funny, I thought that George Washington and later my Uncle signed up to fight to preserve my personal Liberty. Where did I go wrong? See right now in my life I've dropped virtually everything to come half way across this great land to care for an aging parent. Is she covered under the various government programs? YES!, Could I just let home health aides care for her until she recovers? YES! Could I avoid my personal hardship and likely bankruptcy if this is a prolonged recovery or final illness? YES Why don't I? Simple, The USA that my Uncle ran onto the beach at Normandy, slogged through the Ardenne with Patton to Bastogne, BE and later Bergan-Belsen to witness the effects of the Holocaust was not founded upon the principle that the 53% who actually pay an income tax should support the 47% who don't. I'll take care of mine. You take care of yours. It's The American Way.
