what has the association accomplished?

M&M why are you entertaining the weezal? He's not even a mechanic. Let him banter on as he will forever anyway. Stop answering him and he will go away. Let's try to keep these union representation for mechanics between mechanics as this doesn't even affect the other groups except for the related and weezal is not related. He's only here to divide, confuse, and spread misinformation to cause a disruption of the card drive and representational replacement campaign period.

Cream there are kiss asses and lazy chits in every job.Ive never seen anything as blatant as you describe but I dont doubt you.Unions do protect the scum to an extreme but the one time you f@@k up you might need it

i don't argue that. bringing back a$$holes diminishes the value of those that keep their noses clean and follow the rules.

my issue is with those scammers hiding behind the union 'brotherhood' (don't trick on a union brother) or even stewards/executive board members who either directly or indirectly have become the personal attorney for someone who $hits all over their 'union brother(s)'.

i'm all for SPECIFIED bid shifts, where and when applicable. it protects your seniority and blocks entrepreneurial crew chiefs from rearranging the furniture to their personal benefit/usually the company's detriment, under the pretext of 'operational need'.

an example of this is a 'pool' or 'support' or 'roc' shift. say 20 FSCs and 1 c/c. now, let the wheeling and dealing begin.

to me, this is where the union has failed me. it has been my experience that a local will back any and every crew chief...due to the simple fact that most executive board/officers are crew chiefs themselves and don't want to lose that power.

don't get me wrong. it wasn't me that was wronged. it was others. if it happened to others, it can happen to me.

Why are YOU here? You are an employee of a competitor airline that has caused problems revenue wise for the airline that WE work for. Essentially you work for a low cost competitor that has depressed fares and caused widespread devastation for all of us work for the Major Legacy carriers.

You don’t work for our Airline and you are not in either one of our Unions. And these Mechanics are not interested in joining the Union that you belong to.

What these AMERCAN AIRLINES Mechanics do affects ME and my group. They DO NOT affect you.

I invited him to stay because you have tried this before. We both work on 737's and we need to recognize were are peers are going, wages and benefits It's bad enough that the TWU talked American into not recognizing SWA as a competitor.

Another poor attempt to control the narrative.

Anything that happens at one carrier can/will affect the others.

Guess you just (purposefully) missed this one then huh?

If they compared the airline maintenance especially through an arbitrator AA AMTs would have been screwed

How can they not recognize SWA as a competitor. I could see them, not recognizing Alaska Airlines. But SWA, has the largest traffic domestically, and 756 aircraft. What was the benefit of the TWU doing that?

Is that because we contract 80% of our heavy maintenance out?

AA only gets 35% I believe on the TWU side. They want 50%. I think personally we SHOULD compare to SWA and head up to that 80% number now.

Buck what do you say? Maybe they can make some of those TUL Hangers into a cool Aviation themed Honkey Tonk Restaurant?

Nope, but it's a separate argument from the class/craft saga.

I meant what I said.

At DL, WN is used (or ignored) depending on what the company is trying to get us to believe.

WeAAz, the LAA outsourcing number is a percentage of the SPEND....That can be very misleading. The bigger the spend the more outsourcing allowed.
