Welcome To All Former Awa Employees

I would also like to add my welcome to all those new to US Airways! :D

How did it go the first day using the new name? I sometimes still catch myself using USAir.

I'm trying really hard with this, too!
last night Hubby asks: "So, who do I tell people you work for now? America West or USAir?"
"Neither" I say! I corrected him and he says, "Well, at least you won't hear American West anymore!"

One word. Nearsighted. Who knows what oil will do in the future. As I've said before there are many factors we have no control over. DP and team are the best we can have to ride us through the storm. Are they any guarentees....NO. Postive attitudes will go along way. A captain can steer the ship, but he can't sail it by himself. Will everything be rosey...NO. Practically the whole airline industry is ingulfed in a hurricane and not everyone will survive including the New US Airways, but you won't see me punching holes in the ship.

Seniority should have nothing to do with one's attitude. This is a time for all of us to be thankful that we have a job, an opportunity to make a success of our airline, and great hope that we can build bridges to one another. I am looking forward to the day that the "old" USAirways moves into terminal 4 in PHX, so we can start to get aquainted, and begin our new relationship as a new, energized company.
Let's make this a winning venture in all of the avenues of our lives; a new company, new experiences, new friends.

Timmy, you need a chill pill. Whatever happens now is going to be better than the last few yrs US employees endured. As for the HP folks we all know and trust our management team to do the right thing. The biggest hurdle we all have to overcome as the "new" US Airways, is idiots like you who want to be negative and malcontent.
There will be issues to overcome, not every one will like the issues, but we can work together to make this a truely exciting and rewarding company to work for.
I hate to be the break this to you, The main reason US failed was due to very high labor costs, and distrust with past management.

Seniority is not even a variable as I'm not employed by, for or with an airline, in fact, I'm currently self-employed, and I simply love my boss! I only wish for US to succeed, flourish and prosper so that each and every one of you might have happy lives and stable careers now and in the foreseeable future, as you all deserve nothing less.
