Webcast Thoughts?!?

I remember my first modem 9600....
Heh. My first was a whopping 300 baud. Didn't get to upgrade until my junior year in college, when I bumped all the way up to 2400!

We must be doing so well because of our uniqueness. Dave... our web site sucks. Just go over SWA and try theirs. Simple site, cheap fares, reliable SWA. Get a clue..........

The key section on how he will reduce CASM by 4c was pretty unclear.

2c by running better:
more seats, reconfigure all aircraft, might eliminate first class
PHL "more like a rolling hub"
more point to point traffic
increase web site sales with all new web site later this year

2c from employees:
improve productivity
reduce benefits
"everyone must participate, no exceptions"

Very light on the details. Also said might have to "shrink to grow"

A few notes I took:

Evaluating 1st class altogether. Maybe we don't need it?
Reconfigure entire fleet
New Internet site in fall 04
New IFE system better then JetBlue
Seigel pay will be inline with low cost airlines
He won't leave with 4.5 million

Hear it comes...........Cost structure....

Dave doesn't have a clue.

What's with this flood control....

Do they really expect us to use a modem to watch it. Broadband (DSL) isn't available. Check back soon.................Unbelievable....Dave looks like a blur..................
Oh ####, moan. Can you hear him? That's all that matters.

ya...shut it down......nothing new.....usual b.s.

Nothing new regarding plan...Uhmmm..the points he put out....haven't those been swirling around for 2 yrs now??? but yet never anything done.

I liked the key word "We are going to look" well ....what have you been doing the past 6 months/1 yr/2yrs?

I'll take a SWA contract anytime any day....David

Does this mean Dave gives up his Redskins seats????

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like the model US should be looking to emulate is AS. They still have FC seats, good service, happy customers, reasonable airfares, and they compete successfully against Southwest.

Just a thought...

Dave...you weren't there. They didn't beat us on the West Coast. USAir quit and retrenched back into the East. Get your facts right.

And thats why they grew as fast as they did.......................We walked away.

Now he's just babbling about how folks who want to shut it down should vote to fall on the blade again for Siegel and then go off and get another job. He really cares. Really really really! He said it's better to have job while we look for another one. Hrm??

Now we are Rocky. The blurring must be like the slurred speech.

Southwest is the enemy, apparently. Not the people who violated our contracts, lied to us and squandered the sacrifices employees made in 2002.... Don't look over here, look over there! Hey, was that Elvis? (PSYCHE!!)

As a curious outsider I listened in for 30 minutes. I feel sorry for you guys. How many times did Dave say "we've got to do this, we've got to do this" without any detail on "how." The reasoning on pricing ("we have to lower to match Southwest") showed that he'd missed all the lessons from AWA, BA and others on the benefits of simplifying the price structure -- on both revenues AND costs. The CASM comparison was utterly worthless.

It was painful to watch -- the lack of leadership, the lack of details to inspire any confidence in the plan, the expressions on the audience's faces .... Very sad viewing.

Good news -- a new web site in the summer! :(

I may only be an occassional U passenger, but you all have my heartflet sympathies

EyeInTheSky:
Yo! Maybe "Rocky" will be the offical spokesman of US Airways. I can picture it now: "Yo, US Airways begins with You. Hey &*ck You!"

Now that is a good idea! Especially for the Battle of Philadelphia!
