Warren Buffett's Comments

Spin, there will be no help from the unions to sell anything Dave has to offer, he is nothing more then a common liar and thief, he stole the Airbus work from the IAM and three differant decsions from Federal Courts with an injuction and the company still chooses to FIGHT its employees.

I believe it will be a cold day in Hades till you see any union representative sell Dave's bag of magic beans.

Dave the New Lorenzo would like us to forget all about that one 700UW. In Dave's eyes we are the problem here.

I read the article and Buffett is right about the fact that the industry has lost money in the aggregate since it began. I found more relevant to the situation US faces Bob Crandall's comments that consumers pick solely on price because they view all airlines as the same. They are all the same; carriers like US can probably survive only if they break through this mindset and offer a superior product that people are willing to pay more for and aggressively market themselves as different and distinct from other carriers. I would argue that carriers like Southwest and Jet Blue are not successful simply because they offer a cheaper product but because they offer a different product. US' current strategy of cutting services to bare bones levels and going after the twice a year price conscious traveler is a mistake; they should have focused on building a quality carrier that delivers a consistent and superior travel experience. With a base in the affluent Northeast, there is a market for this type of service and plenty of people who'd like more out of travel than a flying Greyhound bus.

Even though Buffet lost money so he said on his stock in US remember this. At that time all of our uniforms had to be purchase from the company that he owned at the time. What he lost in the left hand he gained twice back in the right.

I may have spark a few here but make sure you understand what I was trying to say.
This man has made millions in his investments but his lack of compassion for the working heart of this country of ours is sad. There are lots of millionaires out there investors, bankers, but only a very small amount or maybe even just one or two who care about your quality of life, while they get there dividend paid and if they think they can make more money paying employees less well then it’s your pay that goes down.
So yes I think he is an idiot. People like him and companies are the reason for unions.
Make no mistake if he could make millions while you stand in line for food stamps he would……..
Just one mans opinion no big deal………………..

. I work with people who do about two hours of work an evening and get paid for a solid eight hours and the hourly rate is very generous for the unskilled service they perform. Before coming to the airlines I worked five times harder for three times less, that’s fact not fiction.
